Description

The company's Central and Eastern Europe technology centre, the Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX), has been running since 2013, delivering global technology products and services and playing a major role in the bank's technology overhaul.

The team builds applications for several key business areas and is a core part of the bank's technology platform. It works in a hands-on engineering setting focused on learning, sharing knowledge, building technical skills and networking.

The company is replacing its workflow automation technology with a new in-house platform that simplifies how business processes interact and get automated, using modern tools for this domain.

The platform's core manages all business processes and offers shared functions such as libraries, indexing, data enhancement and user interaction for connected use cases. Goals are high availability, high performance, fast adoption by the business and low downtime. The stack is Java, Camunda, Spring, Hibernate and Elasticsearch on OpenShift/Kubernetes, with end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.

In this role you will manage or carry out work across several parts of the bank's workflow platform, including analysis, development and administration. You will plan and build engineering solutions for business goals, build reliability and resilience through testing and review at every delivery stage, and keep engineering work maintainable and reusable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver the full range of test automation: write, maintain and run automated tests and extend the existing frameworks.
  • Run load and performance tests.
  • Contribute to project and release plans, defect and change processes, systems integration, and how testing tools and procedures are chosen.
  • Collect testing requirements and keep IT and business teams aligned.
  • Help the application team deliver quality by finding defects and gaps.
  • Spot weak points in current procedures, introduce new ones, and assess the risk that changes pose to projects.
  • Carry out manual testing when the application or deadlines call for it.
  • Use AI tools to raise productivity and streamline workflows to solve business problems, applying sound judgement so that data and AI output are used responsibly and ethically.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in quality engineering or test automation, with exposure to every stage of the software development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, BDD, Serenity, Rest Assured, CI/CD solutions or similar.
  • Strong Java coding skills.
  • Nice to have: design patterns, Spring and SpringBoot.
  • Strong backend testing skills, including API testing with tools such as Postman.
  • Ability to run load and performance tests, for example with JMeter.
  • Strong at test planning, designing test strategies, cases and scripts, and running them.
  • Experience with integration and regression testing and with coordinating with supporting systems.
