Description

The company has built an API that lets people connect their consumer financial accounts to the apps and services they use. It combines real-time liability connectivity with instant payment execution.

The API has connected over 350+ million liability accounts for 45+ million users without requiring credentials, and has processed more than $2.5B in payments. One in every three US credit cards is in its ecosystem. Customers include SoFi, Bilt, Cleo, Sezzle, Figure and Aven.

The team has 50+ people in offices in Austin, San Francisco, New York City and Washington D.C. Investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, Avra and Ardent.

The role is a Solutions Engineer position focused on technical sales and expansion. You will join pre-sales conversations early to run technical discovery, solutioning and integration planning, so prospects and customers reach a technical yes sooner.

This is a subject matter expert role. The ideal candidate is technically strong, ideally with APIs, thinks critically, and takes a consultative approach to matching customer pain points with the product and its roadmap. The aim is to make buying and expanding simpler, faster and more repeatable.

Responsibilities

  • Join high-priority deals early, often on call 1-2, as the technical partner to the account executive. Lead discovery and solutioning.
  • Turn the customer's architecture, constraints and goals into a proposed approach that covers the integration plan, sequencing, risks and tradeoffs.
  • Speed up the path from discovery to solutioning to terms by aligning technical points and agreeing on next steps quickly.
  • Occasionally support post-sale work: join customer roadmap talks, suggest new use cases and help drive adoption.
  • Write playbooks for discovery and reference architectures that make the solutions process repeatable across pre-sales and post-sales.
  • Create and maintain a light knowledge base and product catalog.
  • Work with account executives, customer success, TIEs and product to surface recurring issues, improve enablement and feed what you learn back into roadmap decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of technical solutioning in a pre-sales setting.
  • A strong technical background. A computer science degree is preferred, though STEM, engineering, math or physics is acceptable if you show real technical depth.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, whether selling, implementing, supporting or solutioning them.
  • Sharp critical thinking. You dig past the stated question to find the real need and answer that.
  • Able to work in both pre-sales and post-sales, moving between solution design and customer enablement.
  • High ownership and speed. You ramp up fast, speak up on calls, and build lasting assets such as playbooks, guides and demos that cut future workload.
  • Comfortable in a startup with unclear processes and an org structure that keeps changing.
  • Extra Awesome: experience at API-first fintech or infrastructure companies such as Plaid or Stripe, or at technical SaaS firms such as Datadog.
  • Extra Awesome: experience selling or solutioning for lenders, fintechs or complex enterprise buyers.
  • Extra Awesome: experience building technical champions inside customer organizations and working closely with engineering and product teams.
  • Extra Awesome: experience creating technical enablement content and reusable solution frameworks.
