Solution Architect

Description

The company has operated in Hungary since 1991 and became a market leader within 6 years. It remains a key player in the Hungarian life insurance market.

The company is growing its Data and AI capabilities and is hiring a Solution Architect to define and manage possible IT solutions for Data and AI, shaped around specific business problems and needs.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions that meet business requirements while favouring reuse: look for approved solutions already built elsewhere in the group, and build yours so others can reuse them.
• Work with system analysts on solution design, making use of what the current systems and technologies can do.
• Align business requirements by working closely with enterprise, solution, cloud and security architects, plus business and system analysts.
• Spot IT-related security, business and operational risks and propose ways to reduce them.
• Take technical constraints to the business analyst and agree the best balance between business needs and architectural complexity, aiming for strong performance, lower cost and fewer implementation risks.
• Run software selection for architecture components and integrations, based on business requirements and the security and architecture guidelines and policies.
• Oversee the test strategy, and define the test environment needs and tools.

Requirements

• At least 5 years as a Solution Architect or in a similar role, ideally in financial services, within an enterprise setting.
• Experience working in agile development.
• Ability to design complex systems and solutions that serve business needs.
• Strong grasp of architectural principles and design patterns.
• Familiarity with ArchiMate modelling and the Sparx EA tool.
• Keep up with trends such as microservices and micro-frontends.
• Working knowledge of modern integration: OpenAPI, Swagger, web services, API management, and messaging such as MQ or Kafka.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise applications, including legacy systems.
• Fluent English.
• Strong logical, synthetic and analytical thinking, with advanced negotiation skills.
• Overview of current trends in database integration, web and IT infrastructure.
• Understanding of the company's business processes and the ability to turn them creatively into an approved IT architecture.
• Proactive, positive and solution-focused.
• Advantage: experience in insurance or finance.
• Advantage: experience with AI.
• Advantage: knowledge of Azure or AWS.

Conditions

Hybrid role: on average 1-2 office days per week, with possible ad-hoc changes.

Office is an open-plan, eco-friendly space built in 2020.
