Backup & Cyber Recovery Engineer

Description

The company is an international financial institution operating in more than ten countries. This role keeps its systems resilient against cyber incidents from its office in The Hague, protecting services used by millions of customers around the world.

The job is about designing and improving backup and recovery setups so that critical data can be restored quickly and safely even when cyber threats strike.

You will join the MIaaS department in The Hague, a DevOps organisation made up of specialist teams. The newly formed Backup & Cyber DevOps team sits at the centre of the company's cyber resilience work, where working together, taking ownership and looking ahead are key.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run enterprise backup systems and cyber recovery vaults
• Work with cybersecurity, infrastructure and compliance colleagues to meet DORA, NIS2 and internal company policies
• Script and orchestrate backup and recovery workflows to automate them
• Plan and carry out cyber recovery simulations and disaster recovery tests with IT and business units
• Provide round-the-clock support, handling tickets and taking on-call shifts

Requirements

• You are an IT engineer with a track record in enterprise backup or storage solutions
• You communicate clearly, work well in a team and set an example for others
• You have hands-on skill with Azure, AWS or VMware
• You are proficient in scripting and automation
• You understand cyber recovery methods, immutable backups and ransomware
• You stay calm, analyse problems well and can troubleshoot under pressure

Conditions

The role is based in The Hague

Support runs 24/7, so you will take part in on-call shifts

You work a 5-day week
