DevOps Engineer (f/m/x)

Description

The company makes semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, used to produce smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips.

Around 80 percent of the world's microchips are made with its technologies, which end up in smartphones, smart homes and smart factories.

Responsibilities

• Build and roll out scalable, secure infrastructure on Kubernetes across bare-metal and air-gapped environments.
• Put GitOps practices in place to manage infrastructure and platform configuration.
• Design and build robust CI/CD pipelines that automate building, testing and deploying applications across different environments.
• Define best practices for promoting release artifacts between environments while meeting security standards.
• Work closely with agile and cross-functional teams, including product management, development, operations and software architects, so solutions integrate and deploy smoothly.
• Promote and apply best practices in DevOps, automated testing and infrastructure management.
• Write and maintain thorough documentation of DevOps processes and workflows so they stay clear and consistent.
• Track new developments in DevOps, cloud computing and automated testing.
• Share what you learn with the team and stakeholders to support innovation and ongoing improvement of the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of software development experience, with a strong focus on DevOps practices, tools (e.g., FluxCD, ArgoCD, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, HELM) and automated testing.
• Extensive experience with microservices and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix, including writing and using shell scripts to automate recurring tasks and monitoring and optimizing system performance.
• A proven record of building and running CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks and infrastructure management tools, plus Git version control and branching strategies.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or the ELK stack, and the ability to diagnose and fix issues in Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes security practices, including Kubernetes Secrets and ConfigMaps for handling sensitive information securely.
• Excellent verbal and written English at C1 level, and German at C1 level.
• A strong team player who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to keep up with industry trends and apply them to improve development and deployment processes.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one higher-level programming language, such as C#, Go or Python, for software development tasks.
