Description

The company is the team behind a major gaming platform brand and a subsidiary of a larger parent group. Its hardware and network services reach more than 100 million people, and it owns some of the best-known entertainment intellectual properties (IP) in the world.

This is an SDET role focused on the platform SDK ecosystem. You will build tools and infrastructure that analyze the quality of the SDK and related technology, with possible growth into 3D graphics, spatial audio, artificial intelligence, and the integrated game development environment.

You will shape platform technology directly by building tools and automated systems that examine SDK components and platform capabilities. The work includes strengthening the testing infrastructure, raising the bar for quality engineering, and giving the team confidence in every release.

Responsibilities

  • Write and improve automated tests, sample applications, testing tools and frameworks for SDK libraries and low-level C++ software.
  • Build test infrastructure in Python and Groovy that makes it simpler to build, test and demonstrate sample applications.
  • Monitor test infrastructure, investigate automation failures, improve reliability and reduce runtime.
  • Work closely with production and offshore teams on test plans, validation strategies and documentation.
  • Create scalable, maintainable automation and infrastructure patterns that support long-term platform growth.
  • Take part in architecture discussions for test systems spanning C++, embedded firmware in C, and Python infrastructure.
  • Spot technical risks early and lead mitigation to protect release confidence.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including presenting technical direction to engineers and executives.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with PyTest and GTest frameworks.
  • Self-directed, driven to get strong results, and committed to high-quality automation.
  • Experience building, running and debugging software on both Windows and Linux.
  • Solid understanding of automation trade-offs and architectural design decisions.
  • Nice to have: exposure to the Android platform, including its SDK, tooling and architecture.
  • Nice to have: prior experience with platform SDK development is helpful.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine or other game engine technology.
  • Nice to have: experience with containerization technology such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Nice to have: proven experience leading complex debugging efforts.

Conditions

Base pay range is set using market benchmarks and geographic location, and may vary in line with the hybrid working policy.

Individual base pay is based on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience and location.

Background checks are run at the offer stage, which may include criminal background checks for some roles, and require processing personal information.

Benefits

  • Eligible for a top-tier benefits package including medical, dental and vision cover, matching 401(k), paid time off, a wellness program, and employee discounts on company products.
  • May be eligible for a bonus package.
