The role is onsite, with the expectation that you will mainly work from an HPE office.
The company is an edge-to-cloud company that helps customers connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications, from edge to cloud.
The role supports the HPC IST organization by keeping lab infrastructure, test systems and inventory available, working and compliant for complex system validation. You will provide hands-on support, run lab operations, enable remote access and maintain system configurations, which reduces downtime and helps deliver reliable HPC and AI solutions that meet HPE quality standards.
Responsibilities
Install, rack, stack, cable, configure and prepare HPE HPC and AI systems, plus networking, storage, accelerators and related infrastructure, for engineering and validation work.
Safely disconnect, decommission and unrack retired or reassigned equipment, then prepare it for storage, shipment, reuse or disposal under the applicable processes.
Load lab systems with approved operating-system images, firmware, software and configuration settings that match documented project and platform requirements.
Carry out first-line troubleshooting of hardware, firmware, operating system, network connectivity and configuration issues. Record what you find, escalate unresolved issues to the right engineering teams and follow them to closure.
Keep inventory and hardware-lifecycle records for systems, components, spare parts, cables and other lab assets accurate, current and auditable.
Run physical inventory reviews and resolve mismatches between equipment, asset records, storage locations and tracking systems.
Handle inbound and outbound shipments, covering receiving, inspection, packing, labeling, paperwork, tracking and delivery confirmation, for domestic and international destinations.
Organize on-site and off-site storage so equipment and components can be identified, traced, protected and found quickly.
Help run the daily operation of the HPC lab and data-center infrastructure, including system uptime, lab networks, remote access, power, cooling, rack space, cabling and workspace readiness.
Watch lab conditions and quickly report or escalate issues with infrastructure, safety, security, power, cooling, access or compliance that could affect people, equipment or schedules.
Support local and remote engineers by preparing systems, checking basic connectivity and access, arranging equipment availability and helping with configuration problems.
Work with R&D, IST, platform, core engineering, program management, facilities, logistics and other partner teams to share status, clear operational dependencies and keep work aligned with project priorities.
Keep service records, asset documents, shipping records, tickets, configuration information and other operational evidence complete and ready for audit.
Follow HPE lab safety, security, quality, change-control and equipment-handling requirements, including the applicable ISO 9001 processes.
Propose practical changes to lab workflows, asset controls, system staging, documentation, automation and day-to-day efficiency.
Send concise updates on finished and upcoming work, blockers, risks, inventory problems and issues that need engineering or management attention.
Carry out assigned lab support with limited supervision. Get approval before making changes outside standard procedures or approved configurations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or an equivalent technical field.

Solid working knowledge of Linux, including Red Hat, SLES and Ubuntu.
Understanding of network topologies, switches and their configuration.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex problems, working with engineering and test teams.
You understand how HPC hardware and software are set up.
You can analyze and troubleshoot system configuration problems on your own.
You are motivated by leading-edge hardware and HPC technologies that support next-generation AI development and applications.
You support remote test execution and troubleshooting.
You work closely with colleagues locally and around the world on their projects.
