Description

The company is a trusted provider of mission-enabling solutions for global security, and its Engineering and Sciences organization develops, designs, produces and sustains optimized product lines across the sector to give the warfighter a decisive advantage.

This is a Manager Level 2 role in Software and Digital Technologies (SWDT), leading a front-line team in the Targeting Systems product line at the Rolling Meadows, IL site.

You will report to the Targeting Department Manager in SWDT supporting the Rolling Meadows, IL site.

Responsibilities

• Keep technical, cost and schedule performance on track for division contracts.
• Build staffing projections and carry out staffing plans that follow them.
• Communicate regularly with your direct reports, growing inclusion and engagement, mentoring, supporting career development, arranging training and managing performance.
• Own hiring for entry-level roles as well as experienced mid- and senior-level roles.
• Review organizational metrics with program and organization leadership.

Requirements

• A BS or BA in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of related software engineering experience, or an MS with 6+ years of related software engineering experience.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and the full engineering lifecycle, including Agile for embedded software.
• Strong technical problem solving: decomposing problems, root cause analysis, developing and implementing solutions, and monitoring results.
• Experience leading small-to-medium technical teams to deliver technical solutions, engineering artifacts and operational software.
• US citizenship.
• You must be able to obtain a full Secret clearance before you start.
• Preferred: A Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience in an agile environment.
• Preferred: Applied knowledge of Product Line Management.
• Preferred: Ability to link the company's capabilities to current and prospective customers to support business development.

Conditions

Full-time, on-site role in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Travel is about 10% of the time, though minimal travel is expected.

A Secret clearance is required for start.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Base salary range is $153,800.00 - $230,800.00, used as a general guideline; the final offer depends on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
