Senior Software Engineer (Python / GenAI) – Markets Technology

Description

The company's Markets Technology group is modernizing financial risk management and is hiring a senior Python engineer to work at the center of that change.

The role is hands-on, with about 80% of the time spent coding. Your work will shape next-generation risk and intelligence platforms that operate at global enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

• Build risk detection and analytics algorithms on the company's strategic platforms, using foundation models to assess market activity and turn multimodal data (chat, voice, transcripts) into usable intelligence.
• Apply prompt engineering, token cost reduction and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to build efficient production solutions that run on the company's proprietary data at scale.
• Design, build and ship resilient distributed backend services and high-performance APIs on Kubernetes-managed infrastructure.
• Keep up with new LLM and GenAI approaches, libraries and frameworks, testing them and adopting the useful ones to improve the platform and how quickly the team delivers.
• Work with quantitative analysts, product owners, risk managers and compliance teams to ship features across platforms that govern hundreds of risk controls.
• Write clean, modular, maintainable code with thorough unit tests, careful peer reviews and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Write and maintain architecture blueprints, system diagrams and technical documentation that keep systems reliable and raise the technical standard across the team.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional Python backend development, including building scalable, high-performance systems.
• Hands-on production experience with generative AI foundation models, including proven skill in prompt engineering and token usage optimization.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes for deploying and running scalable backend platforms and high-performance APIs.
• Strong grounding in software engineering fundamentals: system design, data structures and algorithms.
• Able to work independently, juggle competing priorities and deliver across several workstreams with little direction.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Nice to have: experience extracting insight from large volumes of unstructured or conversational data.
• Nice to have: experience in financial services or banking, especially with trading workflows, market data or financial risk concepts.
• Nice to have: strong communication skills and the ability to get technical and non-technical stakeholders aligned on shared goals.
• Nice to have: experience working in international, cross-functional teams and contributing to collaborative platform delivery.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Primary location salary range: $94,300.00 to $141,500.00.
