Software Engineer - Level 3/4 (AHT)

Description

The company's Space Systems Sector is hiring a software engineer at Level 3 or 4 to support national security missions.

The team builds and runs mission software across several subsystem groups, each with its own software focus.

The role may be filled at a higher grade depending on your qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain several mission operations software product lines.
• Create new capabilities for those product lines.
• Work alongside the subsystem groups as part of a large engineering team.

Requirements

• Level 3: a bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, a master's with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year. Four extra years of experience can be considered in place of a degree.
• Level 3: an active SCI clearance when you apply, or an active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI within a period the company sets before your start date.
• Level 3: advanced object-oriented programming skills, C++ experience, and understanding of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS.
• Level 4: a bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, a master's with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years. Four extra years of experience can be considered in place of a degree.
• Level 4: an active SCI clearance when you apply, or an active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI within a period the company sets before your start date.
• Level 4: advanced object-oriented programming skills, C++ experience, and working knowledge of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS.
• Preferred: DevSecOps test automation experience.
• Preferred: programming or scripting in C, C++, Java, Python, or Perl.
• Preferred: strong math and algorithms skills.
• Preferred: clear communication with staff at every level, managers, and stakeholders.
• Preferred: past work on an Agile scrum team, or familiarity with Agile.
• Preferred: familiarity with Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
• Preferred: Linux development using git.
• Preferred: proven problem solving and decision making.
• Preferred: an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Conditions

Location: Redondo Beach, CA; Aurora, CO; or Gilbert, AZ.

The offer depends on you obtaining final clearances and program access within a reasonable period the company sets. Keeping the required clearance and access level is a condition of continued employment.

Clearance required for start: yes, type SCI.

Travel: 25% of the time.

You must be able to travel to Redondo Beach, CA for about 4 consecutive weeks of required training.

Base pay: Primary level $98,400.00 to $171,000.00; Secondary level $122,800.00 to $213,400.00. These are general guidelines. Final pay depends on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
