  • Run hiring: lead recruiting, authorize work assignments, and oversee onboarding and salary reviews for your staff.
  • Develop people: design mentorship programs, spot growth opportunities, and support career progression for team members.
  • Turn the department's strategy into concrete objectives and build a growth mindset across the team.
  • Prepare functional input for SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and other milestones, and add technical content to proposals and bid packages.
  • Coordinate across functions: align engineering work with wider initiatives, enforce consistent standards, and share best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 9 years of systems, aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience, or a master's degree in a STEM field and at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Recent, demonstrable experience applying modern systems engineering methods such as requirements management, verification and validation, risk management, and integration and test.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: an advanced STEM degree, such as a Ph.D. or a specialized M.S.
  • Preferred: prior leadership in systems engineering, managing a team of five or more engineers.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and its use on aerospace programs.
  • Preferred: experience in a military aerospace development environment.
  • Preferred: strong communication and interpersonal skills, and comfort working with all levels of staff and senior leadership.
