Description

The company works on electric aviation, and this opening sits in its Customer Product Team.

The team is hiring a full stack software engineer to help build the next generation of digital aircraft and charging products.

You will work with the Maintenance, Flight Ops, Ground Service Equipment and Data teams, and you will also talk with customers directly.

The role needs strong engineering skills and good interpersonal skills. You will earn trust from non-technical stakeholders, turn unclear problems into workable technical designs, and ship solid software in an environment that changes quickly.

Much of the work focuses on data product capabilities, with the rest going to the digital product platform.

The team encourages candidates to apply even if they do not match every listed qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deploy full stack web applications, internal tools and APIs that solve real customer problems.
  • Use an AI-first approach to speed up development and create intelligent products.
  • Research, suggest and adopt new technologies and tools that make the team more efficient.
  • Push for new ideas and steady improvement in how software is developed.
  • Turn complicated, unclear requirements from non-technical stakeholders into clear technical designs and working solutions.
  • Judge whether proposed requirements are technically feasible and explain the tradeoffs to stakeholders plainly.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation so others can understand and keep using your solutions.
  • Take part in cross-team software guilds that improve the software organization.
  • Work with Software Architecture Leads to shape long-term technical designs and roadmaps.
  • Help a team of software engineers deliver high-quality code on a regular release schedule.
  • Learn from past mistakes and help build a habit of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.
  • Proficiency in modern full stack development, for example with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and Fargate.
  • Experience with modern web frameworks such as TanStack Start or NextJS.
  • Experience with AWS CDK.
  • Experience with REST APIs, SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms, with AWS preferred.
  • Experience with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to work independently, juggle several priorities and adjust quickly when requirements change.
  • Above and beyond: experience at a startup or in another fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
  • Above and beyond: experience building internal tools and enterprise applications.
  • Above and beyond: experience in aerospace, manufacturing or another regulated industry.
  • Above and beyond: a record of scoping and delivering projects with minimal direction.

Conditions

Pay is $120,000 to $155,000 USD.

The posted wage is the company's best estimate for this role, and final pay depends on skills, experience, industry background and the changing needs of the role; the team is glad to discuss it during interviews.

Employment decisions rest on merit, competence and qualifications, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, pregnancy or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.

Benefits

  • Restricted Stock Units and Performance Stock Units, offered to all full-time team members.
  • Onsite healthcare in Vermont.
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage.
  • Short-term and long-term disability cover.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Daily lunch provided.
  • Flight lessons and a range of other perks.
