Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Description

Responsibilities

• You will join a high-impact project that shapes the next generation of data storage and cloud technology, owning its key parts from idea to shipped code while working with experienced mentors and cross-functional teams.
• You will run your project through its full cycle: gathering requirements, designing the technical approach, building it, and testing it thoroughly, with regular progress updates to your mentor and team.
• You will design and build new features, optimizations, or infrastructure tools for the core platform, aiming for measurable gains in performance, stability, or operational efficiency.
• You will write unit and integration tests that verify your work, keeping regressions at zero and product reliability high.
• You will join design discussions and code reviews with senior engineers, sharpening your architecture skills and holding your code to high engineering standards and best practices.

Requirements

• You are currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Computer Science or a related field, with graduation expected in December 2027 or later.
• You are proficient in C++.
• You have a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals.
• You approach problems with a solution-focused mindset.
• You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• You can work full-time for 12 consecutive weeks during Summer 2027.

Conditions

The role is primarily in-office at the Santa Clara, CA location, following company policy, except during PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.

The annual base salary range is $8,500 - $10,000 USD.

Salary ranges depend on role, level, and location. For roles open across several locations, the range reflects the labor market in those locations.

The role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
