Software Engineer II

Description

The company builds and runs sports media products, and this team focuses on the college sports coverage side of that business.

The team covers 91 NCAA championships, including March Madness, and delivers content and experiences across every major platform.

The wider sports group reaches over 130 million people monthly in more than 200 markets and in 20+ languages.

The parent organisation is a next-generation global media and entertainment company, and the team works with other high-performing groups to deliver results for fans.

Responsibilities

• Build complex front-end features with React and related tools.
• Design scalable, maintainable UI components and front-end systems.
• Turn designer wireframes and mockups into responsive, accessible interfaces with the UX/UI team.
• Review code, mentor junior developers and enforce front-end standards.
• Track changes in front-end technology and push for modern tools and workflows.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional front-end development experience.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills.
• Experience with a UI framework such as React or Vue.
• Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design.
• Experience with state management libraries.
• Familiarity with current build tools and bundlers.
• Experience with testing frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
• Bonus: experience building Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
• Bonus: working knowledge of Drupal and PHP.
• Bonus: experience running high-performance, highly available, high-scale applications in production.
• Bonus: experience integrating and using AI or ML.
