Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and partners, designed to operate in demanding environments.

The Electronic Warfare team designs software-defined, mass-scalable RF solutions for autonomous systems, combining hardware board design, thermal and structural packaging, real-time C++ signal processing, and directional mesh networking. The team builds and fields EW capabilities meant to function in contested spectrum.

The role supports the fleet's command, control, and situational awareness against near-peer threats. Several Software Engineering positions are open.

The team values depth in EW and high-performance C++ over matching every sub-specialty. Candidates may come from signal processing, communications, or EW effects.

Responsibilities

  • Build high-performance C++ software for real-time signal processing, waveform manipulation, and mission-critical EW functions.
  • Create anti-jamming methods, frequency hopping (FHSS), and adaptive filtering to get around active electronic countermeasures.
  • Develop algorithms for RF sensing, signal detection, and situational awareness that identify and counter threats in changing environments.
  • Work with hardware and systems teams to tune RF front-ends so the software matches the physical constraints.
  • Take ownership of the full stack, from early design and mathematical modelling through bench testing and field trials.

Requirements

  • Strong command of modern C/C++, including memory management, concurrency, and performance analysis.
  • Background in Electronic Warfare, ideally covering some of: jamming theory, threat-driven RF effects, or EW tactics.
  • Solid understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum, DSP, Fourier methods, and modulation theory (QAM, QPSK, OFDM).
  • Experience with low-probability-of-intercept (LPI) links, digital modulation schemes, and RF propagation physics.
  • Skill in embedded systems and Linux networking, particularly radio-based mesh networks or point-to-point links.
  • Familiarity with cognitive radio used for automated interference avoidance.
  • Ability to work at both systems design and detailed implementation levels.
  • Clear, structured communication for technical work across teams.
  • Interest in physics or RF, or a solid grasp of RF processing basics.
  • Experience with signal processing and mathematical modelling, such as Fourier methods, modulation theory, and filtering.
  • Hands-on RF waveform design or amateur radio work.
  • Experience with MIMO antenna systems and beam-forming.
  • High performance computing and software benchmarking experience.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic standards for securing over-the-air transmissions.
  • Custom protocol design for low-bandwidth, high-latency environments.
  • Familiarity with wireless and cable-borne data formats such as QAM-64 and QPSK.
  • Send your CV in English if you want to help build European defence with the team.

Conditions

Work in the defence sector requires that you can obtain and keep the security clearance this role needs. Details follow during recruitment.

Benefits

  • The software and systems you build help protect personnel and support European and national sovereignty.
  • You work with leading engineers on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion, and secure cyber platforms.
  • The environment moves quickly and collaborates closely, and bold ideas get serious R&D support.
