Description

The team builds platforms that shape how AI-assisted applications are evaluated across the company.

The role is for a Lead Software Engineer who designs and builds scalable software for testing, evaluating and continuously improving AI-powered products.

You work at the meeting point of software engineering, data science and AI, creating the technical base for reliable, data-driven decisions.

Lead Software Engineers are hands-on technical leaders who design, build and evolve scalable systems and guide their area of expertise.

You work daily with software engineers and data scientists on platforms, services and tooling for AI application evaluation, covering design, architecture, implementation, deployment and operation.

You help set engineering standards for quality, maintainability and responsible AI use, and bring together strong engineering basics, practical cloud experience and teamwork to deliver work that affects several teams.

The company provides financial markets infrastructure and data, with 25,000 people in 65 countries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable services, mainly in Python, that measure the quality, reliability, performance and safety of AI-assisted applications.
  • Set the technical direction, champion engineering best practice, mentor colleagues and raise standards across the team.
  • Build reusable platforms, frameworks and tooling so teams across the company can evaluate AI-assisted applications consistently and efficiently.
  • Work with data scientists and engineers to understand evaluation methods, turn their requirements into technical solutions and enable data-driven insights.
  • Support deployment and operations on Azure, working with DevOps and platform teams where needed.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and well to improve productivity, code quality and delivery.

Requirements

  • Solid professional experience building production software, with significant Python experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering robust, scalable systems and services in the cloud.
  • A firm grasp of software engineering principles, including code quality, maintainability, security and operational excellence.
  • Experience shaping technical direction, driving engineering improvements or mentoring engineers.
  • Experience building platforms, frameworks or shared services used by several users or teams.
  • Curiosity about AI and a commitment to using AI tools responsibly within the development lifecycle.
  • Desirable: practical knowledge of DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control workflows and application monitoring.
  • Desirable: experience with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, including deploying and running applications and services.

Conditions

Hybrid working: you attend the office at least three days per week.

Flexible working arrangements are open for discussion.

Career stage: Manager.
