Software Developer - Mid (SMDC)

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Software Developer in Huntsville, AL, to support knowledge management work for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.

You will build and maintain enterprise applications and automated collaboration tools on SharePoint and Microsoft 365, and make sure they meet DoD cybersecurity and configuration management rules.

All hires are expected to have experience with Microsoft Copilot or an approved equivalent AI tool.

Responsibilities

• Build automated collaboration tools, database solutions, and document management systems for USASMDC knowledge management efforts.
• Develop and administer SharePoint, including installing, configuring, and maintaining it in NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.
• Design, build, and upkeep enterprise applications and workflows across SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
• Write technical documents such as implementation procedures, plans, and training materials.
• Review code for security, compliance, and performance, and confirm solutions meet DoD cybersecurity and configuration management standards.
• Work with government staff and other contractors to deliver secure, efficient, and reliable knowledge management solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and maintaining enterprise applications on SharePoint, including SharePoint Online with Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Skilled in web and database development using ASP.NET, C, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, CSS, SQL Server, and web services.
• Able to write technical documentation on your own, covering procedures, planning, workflows, schedules, and application design.
• Analytical, able to gather requirements, turn them into working applications, and keep designs sound.
• Experienced in code reviews for security, best practices, and performance, and in analyzing and improving new and existing code.
• At least 6 years of software development in DoD environments on mid-sized to major warfighter programs.
• Current Security+ certification and relevant computing environment certifications to meet DoD 8140/8570 requirements for privileged network access.
• Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Conditions

Location is Huntsville, AL.

Salary range is $90,000 to $93,000 USD. This is a good-faith estimate, and actual pay depends on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
