Description

The company is a digital services unit wholly owned by an aerospace manufacturer. It builds integrated digital tools that connect planning, flight, technical and ground operations into one end-to-end system, aiming for more predictable and efficient performance.

The product range has grown recently, so the cloud platform now needs one consistent way of being run. This is a permanent, professional-level role in the Digital job family, based in Gdansk.

You will work with external consultants and internal teams to design and grow a next-generation observability platform. You will help teams with different engineering cultures work together and bring AIOps into daily operations.

Hiring steps: online HR screening, a technical interview, an interview with the Head of Digital Platform Operations, and a final onsite interview with an HR Business Partner. Only selected candidates will be contacted.

Responsibilities

  • Lead observability and telemetry architecture and platform harmonization, merging fragmented monitoring tools into one unified control room.
  • Review current setups, telemetry, monitoring tools and workflows in both legacy and newly built or acquired solutions. Find overlaps, inefficiencies and good practices across the teams.
  • Design a scalable, unified roadmap for technical operations centered on robust monitoring, observability and proactive alerting.
  • Apply best-cost practices to rationalize tools and keep cloud spend optimal.
  • Add AI and machine learning (AIOps) to the roadmap for predictive alerting, automated incident response and anomaly detection.
  • Lead the migration, consolidation and optimization of the observability toolset across the organization.
  • Define and promote modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methods across operations teams.
  • Shadow external consultants to learn their architecture, then take full internal ownership of the observability roadmap and platform governance.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on experience designing and running enterprise monitoring with Splunk, Grafana or Datadog.
  • Strong expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS). An active AWS certification, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with AWS CloudWatch and related native AWS governance and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation to manage observability as code.
  • Proven experience in platform operations.
  • A strong interest in, or practical experience with, applying machine learning and AI to operational data (AIOps).
  • Ability to work across cross-functional, newly merged teams, reach agreement and deliver a shared vision.
  • Ability to explain needs and business value to senior management.
  • Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.

Conditions

Permanent, full-time employment contract.

Hybrid work with flexible hours: 3 days per week in the Gdansk office at Olivia Business Centre.

The Gdansk team operates within a Polish legal entity of the wider group.

Applications are stored for up to 3 months after recruitment ends, or up to 12 months if you consent to future recruitment; you may withdraw consent or object at any time. Applicants are considered without regard to background, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief, and accommodations are available on request.

Benefits

  • Training and development budget of 3000 PLN gross per year after the probationary period.
  • Co-funding for meals and commuting.
  • Access to the latest knowledge and technologies to support professional development.
  • Opportunity to work on international projects with global teams, including occasional international travel.
  • Private medical coverage.
  • Sport card.
  • Mental health support platform.
  • Life insurance.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
  • Employee referral bonus of 5000 PLN.
