Description

The team is the ServiceNow Centre of Excellence and Innovation (CoEI), which brings together people, process and technology to build effective, scalable solutions across the enterprise.

You will work with global business stakeholders, Enterprise Architects and technology teams to improve the platform, strengthen delivery practices and support digital transformation.

The role is titled ServiceNow Solutions Engineer (Associate), while the summary describes a senior engineer who designs secure, scalable and maintainable enterprise solutions, turns business needs into technical approaches, guides delivery teams and keeps the platform aligned with architecture, governance and ServiceNow best practice. It suits an experienced engineer who wants to grow solution-design skills and move toward Solution Architect work.

Responsibilities

  • Own solution design from start to finish across workflow, security, data, integrations, user experience, automation and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Work with business stakeholders and Enterprise Architects to define requirements, compare options and fit solutions to platform strategy, standards and roadmaps.
  • Write clear solution designs, technical specifications, integration designs, data models and architecture documents.
  • Give technical assurance through architecture reviews, governance forums and design authorities, assessing the impact on ServiceNow and connected systems.
  • Build, test and release ServiceNow solutions and enhancements, such as workflows, Flow Designer flows, business rules, UI policies, access controls, catalogues and integrations.
  • Guide developers, administrators and delivery partners, and encourage reusable patterns, development standards and good practice.
  • Support upgrades, resolve incidents and defects, perform root-cause analysis, tune performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assess and roll out new capabilities, including UI Builder, Now Assist and AI-powered workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of ServiceNow platform experience, including enterprise-scale design, development and implementation work.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow architecture and development, covering JavaScript, APIs, integration frameworks, security, governance, scalability and maintainability.
  • Experience turning business requirements into solution designs and technical architectures, and taking part in architecture reviews and design assurance.
  • Working knowledge of ITSM and related ServiceNow products such as ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CMDB and CSM.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, mentoring and problem-solving skills, with the judgement to weigh business value against technical constraints and risk.
  • Required: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • Required: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Required: ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification(s).
  • Required: platform strategy, modernisation or digital transformation work delivered alongside Enterprise Architecture teams.
  • Desirable: experience implementing Service Operations Workspace.
  • Desirable: experience with Now Assist, AI Agents, AI Specialists, or other generative AI and intelligent automation capabilities.

Conditions

Hybrid working: you must be in the office at least 4 days a week, with up to 1 day a week working from home.

Some business groups may require more office time because of their roles and responsibilities.

Candidates may use AI to learn and prepare, but interviews focus on your own experience, thinking and judgement, and guidance on AI use at each step is provided.
