Senior VDI Engineer

Description

This role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance.

The team needs a TS/SCI cleared VDI Engineer to support an intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO.

You will design, configure and maintain a large virtual desktop environment that users access from around the globe.

You will be the subject matter expert for performance problems across the organization.

You will also bring experience in system design and integration, identity lifecycle management, and process automation and improvement.

The ideal candidate has a track record designing and running VDI in a large enterprise, works well alone and in a team, and communicates clearly in writing and speech. You care about operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the virtual desktop environment, and provide Tier 3 and Tier 4 support to system administrators to resolve VDI issues.
• Advise on tuning desktops so they work across platforms, and liaise between the different VDI technologies.
• Troubleshoot endpoint and virtual desktop problems and resolve them.
• Apply advanced knowledge of administering, engineering and deploying VDI technologies.
• Work across several complex production environments with many stakeholders.
• Apply deep technical expertise and knowledge of related disciplines.
• Run trade studies and recommend solutions, including make or buy decisions.

Requirements

• You must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. The company can sponsor the polygraph.
• You have engineering support experience with legacy and current Citrix products.
• You have 5+ years of experience and a BS degree, or an equivalent mix of years of experience and education.
• Your career has progressed from administrator to senior engineer.
• You have worked with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later.
• You have worked with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS).
• You have worked with Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).
• You have worked with Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX.
• You have worked with Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
• You have worked with Citrix App Layering.
• You have worked with Liquidware Profile Unity.
• You have worked with Hyper-V and VMware VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs).
• You are familiar with HP AnyConnect and Leostream.
• Preferred: experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering.
• Preferred: experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Preferred: experience with System Center Virtual Machine Manager or VMware vCenter 6.7.
• Preferred: experience with Active Directory and Group Policies.
• Preferred: experience supporting home directory and profile management services.
• Preferred: experience with desktop software provisioning and support services.

Conditions

Pay is set per candidate based on skills and experience and typically falls between $160k and $170k. The final figure is not guaranteed and may sit outside that range, depending on factors such as education, experience, certifications and other requirements.
