Description

Low Earth orbit is opening up for commercial use. The company builds space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing and reliable, affordable reentry capsules.

The company designs, builds and flies its own vehicles in-house, covering the processing payloads, capsules, heat shields and satellite buses.

Many medicines and high-performance fiber optics can only be made in microgravity. The company builds both the products and the infrastructure to make that possible, aiming to widen what the space economy can do for life on Earth.

The leadership and staff include people from major space companies, pharmaceutical firms and Silicon Valley. The company was founded in January 2021 and is backed by a range of venture investors.

The headquarters in El Segundo, California houses offices and a production facility where vehicles, equipment and materials are built, integrated and tested. There are also offices in Washington, DC and Huntsville, Alabama.

The role sits in a team that is pioneering commercial space-based manufacturing and reentry logistics. The company needs a senior technical recruiter who enjoys finding hard-to-fill roles and closing them. You will own recruiting across engineering disciplines including Avionics, GNC, Manufacturing, Mechanisms, Propulsion, Structures, Systems Integration & Test, and Thermal, among others. The job is about results: building pipeline, representing the company in the market, attracting strong candidates and running hiring plans that support production growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full hiring process, from intake sessions through to a signed offer.
  • Source actively, reaching out to passive candidates and building relationships with them.
  • Track pipeline health and use the data to set priorities and keep hiring managers' expectations aligned.
  • Work with hiring managers as a close team, running strong intake sessions and advising on market conditions and compensation. Challenge assumptions when needed.
  • Explain the company's story persuasively, guide candidates through their decisions and close offers.
  • Make the process feel personal and smooth for everyone who interacts with the company during a job search.
  • Mentor others, improve hiring processes and promote inclusive interview practices that support diverse teams.
  • Success means consistently delivering high-quality hires on tight timelines, earning hiring managers' trust through sound strategic advice, building repeatable processes that fix inefficiencies and create a pipeline that grows with the team, and keeping a high bar while moving fast in a competitive market.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting, with hands-on sourcing and hiring at speed in competitive markets.
  • Proven self-starter who takes full ownership of results and works well when the path is unclear.
  • Proven record of sourcing and closing senior and leadership candidates in competitive markets.
  • Clear, proactive communicator who keeps candidates and hiring managers informed.
  • A solid grasp of business functions, enough to judge candidate depth and place each role in context.
  • Preferred: in-house recruiting experience at a hardware or deep tech startup, from Series A through growth stage.
  • Preferred: experience recruiting across several engineering functions, such as Avionics, GNC, Manufacturing, Mechanisms, Propulsion, Structures, Systems Integration & Test, and Thermal.
  • Preferred: experience with the Greenhouse ATS.
  • Preferred: exposure to ITAR or export-controlled hiring.
  • Preferred: an active network in the Los Angeles aerospace corridor.
  • Preferred: familiarity with diversity sourcing strategies and tools.

Conditions

Base salary is $125,000 to $169,000 per year.

The range reflects the levels at which the company may hire. Final pay depends on experience, skills, education and internal equity.

The role is eligible for incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

The job is onsite in El Segundo, CA.

The company hires only U.S. persons, meaning U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), such as refugees or people granted asylum. Employees must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. and have access to export-controlled items without an export license.
