Description

The company is building AI systems that learn on their own and combine advanced models with automated lab instruments to run the full scientific method, aiming at problems in medicine, materials, and energy.

You will work directly with the AI research and engineering teams to find, approach, and hire the researchers and engineers behind the platform.

The role covers the full hiring cycle and is meant to reach people who are not actively looking on job boards, using research circles and technical channels.

The company combines a startup pace with work on problems of major importance and holds truth, trust, curiosity, grit, and velocity as its core values.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run hiring plans for AI and ML research and engineering roles, from intake with hiring managers through screening, interview loops, offers, and closing.
  • Work with AI research hiring managers and interview panels to turn team needs into sourcing plans, candidate profiles, and role calibration.
  • Grow a trusted network of ML researchers and applied scientists across LLM, RL, and generative AI through steady relationship-building and discovery through publications, GitHub, conferences, and open-source work.
  • Work with leadership and other teams to plan long-term AI and ML hiring and to balance priorities across research groups.
  • Improve recruiting processes to keep a high, consistent bar and to reduce bias in hiring.
  • Build the company's reputation with the ML research and science community, presenting its mission, culture, and technical work to candidates who have other strong options.
  • Track new sourcing methods, interview practices, and AI and ML talent trends, and bring useful ones to the team.
  • Keep the pipeline clean and track metrics such as time-to-fill, slate quality, and source effectiveness, and communicate clearly with candidates and hiring teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting, supporting technical research teams, including a record of hiring AI and ML research talent.
  • A strong existing network in the ML research community, such as people from NeurIPS, ICML, and leading CS and ML programs.
  • A proven record of attracting passive candidates from top academic institutions and frontier labs and of scaling a technical hiring function.
  • Enough technical understanding to assess ML and research qualifications alongside hiring teams.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with senior technical leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities in a quick-moving setting.
  • Nice to have: hands-on experience with agentic recruiting tools or workflows, such as automations and enrichment or triage helpers, used to find candidates.
  • Nice to have: experience recruiting at a deep-tech or frontier AI research organization.
  • Nice to have: experience recruiting across several international regions.

Conditions

The base salary range is $160,000 to $215,000 USD, with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity. The final offer depends on your background, expertise, and expected impact.

The posted USD range applies only to U.S.-based roles; salaries outside the U.S. are set to the local market.

Full-time U.S. employees get medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-paid life and disability insurance, flexible time off with generous company-wide holidays, paid parental leave, an education assistance program, commuter benefits including bike share memberships for office-based staff, and a subsidized company lunch program.

Full-time employees outside the U.S. receive a benefits package suited to their region.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
