Senior Technical Project Manager (m/f/d) - Data Centres

Description

The company is a professional services firm working across the Data Centre sector, and its Data Centre business in Germany is growing. The team in Berlin is hiring an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager.

You would oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning and close-out phases of a hyperscale data centre for a global technology client, working on site.

The role offers the chance to lead strategic commissions and high-profile projects for a market-leading client base and to build a career with the company.

Responsibilities

• Run the full project lifecycle, from design through construction to commissioning, keeping the project on budget, on schedule and to the required quality, and act as the main client contact.
• Build working relationships, solve problems and push projects through to completion.
• Work with clients, subcontractors and regulatory authorities so project requirements are met and issues get resolved.
• Manage the design process so it meets the client's requirements, and keep client expectations realistic.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules, cost-saving options, discrepancies and potential construction problems.
• Make sure safety, quality and environmental standards meet industry regulations and standards across the project.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery.
• Work closely with project teams to process documents and manage contract documents in a timely way.
• Prepare regular stakeholder reports covering progress, budget status and risk management.

Requirements

• A university degree in construction or a related field.
• Several years of project management experience, gained in a Data Centre or similar technical environment.
• Technical understanding of data centre infrastructure: HVAC, electrical, generators, fire, security and BMS.
• Thorough knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from inception and design through authority approvals, construction completion and post-project review.
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
• You work well under high pressure and in a fast-moving setting.
• You are highly motivated and committed to delivering for your client.
• Fluent English and German are required.
• You are available to work full time on site.
