Description

The company designs, builds and runs the largest fleet of imaging satellites ever flown, and sells the data through a cloud platform to customers in commercial, environmental and humanitarian work. It is both a space business and a data business, and it builds its own hardware, manufacturing, data processing and software.

Customers and users worldwide use this data to build new technologies, grow revenue, support research and tackle hard problems on Earth.

Staff come from many fields and work across the globe, with teams in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and The Netherlands, plus remote workers in different time zones.

This role runs internal program management for the company's DACH solutions, starting with a large multi-year satellite constellation and sovereign platform deployment for a public-sector customer. The portfolio is expected to grow.

You will be the accountable program owner for Product and Engineering, working with the customer-facing program manager to turn contract commitments into one coordinated plan across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure and Space Systems.

The role is hybrid and full-time, with 3 days per week in the Berlin office. Customer meetings and documents are in German, so native German is required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the internal program plan for DACH deliveries, covering scope, schedule, incremental milestones with clear definitions of done, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Set up and maintain program governance, including who owns each workstream, who decides what, and how progress is reported.
  • Work daily with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, other TPMs, the customer-facing program manager and Customer Success.
  • Turn customer requirements into clear technical requirements, and work with Product Managers to rank requests against the roadmap.
  • Run the operating rhythm, including cross-team syncs, go/no-go decisions and release coordination, so every meeting produces decisions and owned actions.
  • Test plans for completeness, accuracy and fit, and raise risks and conflicts between commitments, priorities and capacity early.
  • Keep stakeholders from engineering to leadership informed about progress, risks and changes, and escalate early when needed.
  • Improve ways of working so each future deployment is faster and easier to repeat.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of program management or software development experience in SaaS, cloud platforms, data products or geospatial systems. Remote sensing or satellite experience is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Fluent written and spoken German, and professional working English, the company's working language.
  • Experience leading complex technical programs across a matrixed organization, setting priorities on your own, including programs with contractual commitments to external customers.
  • Experience with the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through launch preparation, go-to-market, deprecation and end-of-life.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and creative thinking skills, and the ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Able to explain analyses to business leaders and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.
  • Able to balance day-to-day tactical work with longer-term improvements that make operations more efficient.
  • Preferred: experience with public-sector customers in the DACH region.
  • Preferred: experience with sovereign, private-cloud or on-premises platform deployments.
  • Preferred: experience with remote sensing, earth observation data or geospatial systems.
  • Preferred: experience working with remote, worldwide teams.
  • Preferred: actively explores AI technologies to automate workflows, improve data or raise team productivity.
