The company's product teams design vehicles, hardware, battery systems, software, and safety and entertainment features using a human-centered approach.
Its products carry millions of people every day, and the company aims to make transportation safer and more connected worldwide.
Responsibilities
Turn stakeholder and customer use cases into system strategies, feature requirements, functional specifications, architecture concepts, and verification plans.
Lead hands-on systems work across vehicles, benches, simulation and playback setups, cloud and data pipelines, and connected fleet campaigns.
Work with software, platform, vehicle integration, quality, data engineering, ADAS, AV, product, legal, and regulatory teams to deliver scalable, reliable recording solutions.
Define strategies for recording triggers, signals, topics, durations, data quality, compute and storage budgets, offload, privacy, consent, geofencing, and vehicle compatibility.
Break product requirements down into use cases, feature specifications, system requirements, interfaces, constraints, and verification criteria.
Make sure designs meet customer consent, privacy, legal, geofencing, regional, and regulatory recording needs.
Build system-level test strategies, use cases, test cases, functional checks, and validation plans for new features.
Gather and analyze use cases from stakeholders, customers, ADAS, AV, regulators, privacy, and machine learning teams.
Handle data-collection requests by clarifying use cases, finding available signals, defining trigger logic, assessing pipeline limits, and deciding on needed software or architecture changes.
Share requirements, defects, dependencies, risks, and release impacts with software and platform teams.
Keep engineering leadership updated on status, timing, risks, and technical issues, and share technical recommendations and lessons learned.
Find ways to improve requirements quality, systems engineering processes, test automation, configuration management, release readiness, and stakeholder communication.
Mentor engineers and contribute to reusable systems-engineering standard work, documentation, and technical training.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, requirements engineering, embedded systems, automotive software, or a related field.
A Bachelor of Science in electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
A track record of leading cross-functional technical work across several engineering disciplines.
Experience turning customer or stakeholder needs into system requirements, functional specifications, interfaces, and verification criteria.
Experience with requirements management and traceability tools, where DNG is preferred.
A solid grasp of complex electrical, mechanical, software, and vehicle system concepts.
Strong analytical skills and a record of solving unusual or complex technical problems.
Experience defining and running system-level test cases and validation strategies.
Strong written and spoken communication, including technical presentations and requirements reviews.
Able to work independently, shape technical decisions, and take issues through to closure.
Must be able to legally drive a vehicle regularly.
Preferred: experience with DNG, Jira, Confluence, SysML, UML, or similar systems-engineering tools.
Preferred: experience with CAN, LIN, GMLAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, SOME/IP, or other vehicle communication protocols.
Preferred: experience with QNX, Linux, Android, Azure, cloud data platforms, or embedded software environments.
Preferred: experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, shell scripting, or test automation frameworks.
Preferred: experience with simulation, playback, SIL, HIL, bench testing, or virtual validation.
Preferred: experience supporting regulatory, privacy, consent, geofencing, or data governance requirements.
Preferred: DFSS Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
