Description

The People organization at the company builds and supports the systems and processes behind the employee lifecycle. The team works with People and Recruiting to keep the HCM infrastructure running reliably as the company grows.

You will own and develop Workday as a central part of the HCM infrastructure. You will configure key Workday modules, turn People and Recruiting needs into solutions that scale, and maintain the reporting, security, integrations and processes that keep the platform dependable. The role combines HR and technology, so you need a solid grasp of both People processes and the configuration that supports them.

Based in the Raleigh or New York City office.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary owner of Workday, configuring HCM, Advanced Compensation, Time Tracking and Time & Attendance, and evolving the platform as the business changes.
  • Work directly with Recruiting and the wider People team to define requirements and convert them into Workday solutions that are sustainable to run, balancing stakeholder requests against long-term configuration health.
  • Lead or assist with annual Open Enrollment configuration, testing and go-live, making sure Workday is ready for enrollment.
  • Set up Workday for compensation cycles covering merit, bonus and equity reviews, and support the configuration these programs need.
  • Troubleshoot Workday issues, manage security settings and keep data accurate across integrations. Investigate problems and see them through to resolution.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards and calculated fields for People organization reporting, turning reporting requests into dependable Workday solutions.
  • Review new Workday releases and features, assess their impact and value, and recommend adoption where they help the business.
  • Document Workday processes and configurations, and train HR team members on what the system can do and how to use it.
  • Manage relationships with Workday support and third-party implementation partners, and bring in outside expertise when needed.

Requirements

  • You build rather than maintain: you spot gaps where no path exists yet, shape a solution and push it forward without waiting for direction.
  • You use AI tools as a regular part of how you work, to move faster, prepare better and communicate more clearly, treating AI as a multiplier rather than a shortcut.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience, ideally across HCM, Advanced Compensation, Time Tracking and Time & Attendance.
  • Experience configuring Workday business processes, security roles and reporting, including calculated fields and custom reports.
  • Experience working directly with HR, People and Recruiting stakeholders to turn their needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership of ambiguous, cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to explain technical Workday configuration clearly to non-technical colleagues.
  • Nice to have: experience with Workday integrations, including EIBs, Studio or Core Connectors.
  • Nice to have: Workday Pro certification or certifications.
