Senior Systems Engineer

Description

The company sells an AI CRM platform, and its Information Technology team runs enterprise IT for HR and Finance systems across Hire to Retire, Source to Pay, Record to Report and Plan to Perform.

The team covers applications engineering, infrastructure, collaboration, enterprise operations, architecture and program enablement, and works closely with business partners.

This is an individual contributor role as Service Manager for Financial Systems, acting as the hands-on subject matter expert for enterprise finance platforms such as Workday Financials, Vertex, Blackline, Revpro and other SaaS applications.

Responsibilities

• Keep financial systems stable, fast, compliant and continuously improved from start to finish.
• Work with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Tax and Treasury to uncover system problems, collect requirements and turn them into technical fixes.
• Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers so core ERP systems such as Workday Financials and Vertex stay highly available, reliable and fast, meeting agreed SLAs and KPIs.
• Take full ownership of high-priority financial system incidents and run root cause analysis to stop repeat failures.
• Handle Level 2 and Level 3 support yourself and coordinate user acceptance testing for bugs and enhancements.
• Confirm financial systems follow internal controls, SOX, data privacy rules and statutory reporting standards.
• Monitor user access through role-based access control and segregation of duties to reduce fraud and security risk.
• Test and update business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical financial databases and applications on a regular basis.

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering and operations, with a proven record of owning service for financial ERP systems, especially Workday, Vertex and other SaaS tools that support finance processes.
• Proven experience with IT service management, including incident, problem and change management, API and integration support, and root cause analysis.
• Deep expertise in one finance process: Record to Report, Source to Pay or Plan to Perform.
• Experience with several integration technologies, including MuleSoft and Workday integrations such as Studio and Orchestrations.
• Experience leading a global team across multiple time zones.
• A strong focus on innovation, operational excellence and automation.
• A related technical degree is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
