Description

The company is hiring a Senior Systems Capability Engineer to lead the development and integration of automated driving technology.

You will work where hardware, software and the driver meet, defining, building and delivering features that improve the driving experience and support the team's goal of zero crashes.

The role covers both ends of the development V: you define how features should behave, then verify in vehicles that performance meets the target.

The work moves quickly with ADAS development, so you need sound technical judgment, critical reasoning and a structured way of solving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Join or lead a cross-functional team of software, systems engineering, product management, program management and key hardware partners, keeping peers and downstream customers aligned.
  • Analyze and negotiate requirements with internal and external stakeholders across product development and integration, with a focus on feature performance and technical solutions.
  • Own features end to end, hands-on, testing and integrating system and feature capabilities in simulation and in vehicles.
  • Triage and analyze test data from simulation and vehicle runs to set development priorities and refine requirements.
  • Write test cases that form a validation test plan traceable to feature requirements.
  • Communicate issues clearly, solve problems, and rebalance priorities and workload as they come up.
  • Apply technical understanding, critical reasoning and a structured approach to problems.
  • Work in an agile way, making fast changes so solutions reach the customer quickly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Math or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2-4 years of engineering experience with complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • At least 5 years of technical or engineering experience.
  • Understanding of active safety systems, vehicle performance and automated driving technology.
  • Ability to juggle several priorities and still hit deliverables.
  • Ability to identify problems, weigh possible courses of action, negotiate efficient solutions and put contingency plans in place.
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in engineering.
  • Preferred: Experience developing automotive safety or convenience features.
  • Preferred: Experience with ADAS systems.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of software used in automotive engineering and tools used for data collection.
  • Preferred: Background in performance integration or validation.
  • Preferred: A consistent track record of solving complex problems through systems thinking.
  • Preferred: Experience in virtualization or simulation development.

Conditions

Onsite 3 days per week, with flexibility to split time across company sites, as some of that time must be spent at Milford Proving Grounds.

Travel is less than 25%.

The role is subject to export control restrictions. Candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee), or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.

Role-related assessments and/or pre-employment screening may be required, where applicable, before employment begins.

The company is committed to non-discrimination and equal employment opportunity.

Benefits

  • Well-being support from day one, at work and at home.
  • Total Rewards resources are available to explain the company's career and pay benefits.
