Senior Software Development Engineer (Java)

Description

The team builds the cloud platform used in electronics design, helping design engineers work together and bring ideas to market more efficiently.

This role sits in the R&D software engineering group. The company is a global software business, part of a larger group, that is changing how electronic products are created.

You will be a senior backend engineer on the R&D team, working on complex cloud applications where software, electronics and cloud services meet.

Responsibilities

• Build new cloud-native applications and scalable infrastructure.
• Apply AI and ML to improve advanced search.
• Process large volumes of data, model data, and design APIs around user intent.
• Work on stateful and stateless services, relational databases and ORM frameworks.
• Develop new product features for electronics engineers.
• Work with Java, AWS, multi-tenant architecture and distributed high-load systems.
• Solve technical problems across software, electronics and cloud services.
• Work with product managers, architects and engineers to ship reliable, scalable features.
• Take part in technical decisions, code reviews and ongoing process improvements.
• Share knowledge and raise the team's engineering standards.

Requirements

• You have worked with distributed systems and production cloud environments.
• You have worked with.NET.
• You have modernized or integrated complex enterprise applications.
• You know high-load systems, performance optimization or cloud observability.
• You have worked with the Firebird database.
