Description

The company develops AI compute hardware, along with the software and systems infrastructure around it, and is part of a larger group of companies.

This role builds the diagnostic software and stress tools that find hardware faults, characterize silicon behavior and improve platform observability during bring-up and validation, rather than running existing test plans.

You will extend Arm-developed diagnostics technologies for the company's next-generation AI silicon and create new diagnostics as future hardware capabilities emerge.

You will work with hardware architects, firmware engineers, validation engineers and diagnostics teams to turn new hardware capabilities into reusable diagnostic software.

You will help define how next-generation AI systems are validated, and your work will shape hardware quality, silicon bring-up and long-term platform reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Extend existing Arm diagnostics tools to run on the company's AI platform.
  • Build system-level diagnostics and stress tools that detect data integrity, computational correctness, performance and reliability problems across CPUs, AI accelerators, memory, storage, PCIe, firmware, BMC and other components, including silent data corruption (SDC) tests, power transient stress tools and platform diagnostics.
  • Write diagnostic and stress-testing software for CPU, memory, interconnect, PCIe and other system components.
  • Validate CPU scaling and cache behavior, memory (DDR/HBM) bandwidth, latency and NUMA effects, interconnect contention under multi-core load, PCIe/I-O throughput, latency and multi-device scenarios, and high-speed I/O.
  • Build reusable validation utilities that plug into the existing validation framework.
  • Create tools that surface intermittent faults such as silent data corruption, timing-related problems and hardware instability.
  • Design configurable diagnostic applications that work across several silicon revisions, platforms and execution environments.
  • Automate diagnostic runs across server and rack-scale validation environments.
  • Use configuration-driven parameters to vary workloads and scale tests.
  • Work with hardware architects to learn new capabilities and identify missing diagnostics.
  • Partner with firmware and validation teams to improve hardware observability.
  • Debug low-level interactions between hardware, firmware, operating system and drivers.
  • Analyze diagnostic output and refine fault isolation methods.
  • Build software that lets engineers reproduce and investigate hard-to-find hardware failures.
  • Contribute libraries and utilities that raise productivity across several validation teams.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience building hardware diagnostics, system validation software, firmware validation tools or low-level systems software.
  • Strong software development skills in Python and C/C++.
  • Strong experience with Linux systems.
  • A solid understanding of modern server platform architecture, including how CPU, memory, PCIe, storage, networking, firmware, operating system and device drivers work together.
  • Experience debugging hardware and software interactions across several platform layers.
  • Experience writing diagnostics, stress tests or hardware validation software.
  • Experience with server platforms, embedded systems or SoC validation.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Experience working across hardware, firmware, software and validation teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable: experience with Arm-based server platforms.
  • Desirable: experience with AI accelerators or high-performance computing systems.
  • Desirable: silent data corruption (SDC) testing.
  • Desirable: hardware stress testing.
  • Desirable: power transient analysis.
  • Desirable: hardware fault injection methodologies.
  • Desirable: firmware validation.
  • Desirable: silicon bring-up.
  • Desirable: performance characterization.
  • Desirable: hardware telemetry and observability.
  • Desirable: BMC firmware or server management.
  • Desirable: RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability) technologies.

Conditions

Flexible working is offered.

The company runs an equal opportunity process, welcomes people from all backgrounds and will make reasonable interview adjustments on request.

Benefits

  • A competitive salary.
  • A US benefits package with medical, dental and vision coverage.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
  • Disability and life insurance.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan.
