The company builds AI compute hardware, software and systems infrastructure, and is part of SoftBank Group.
This role centers on writing the diagnostic software and stress tools that find hardware faults, describe silicon behavior and improve observability during bring-up and validation, rather than running test plans.
You will extend existing Arm-developed diagnostics technology for the company's next-generation AI silicon and build new the company-specific capabilities alongside Arm engineers.
Responsibilities
Write, extend and connect silicon validation and diagnostics tools for next-generation AI SoCs.
Learn the existing Arm diagnostics tools and adapt them to the company's AI platform.
Build diagnostics and stress software for CPU, memory, interconnect, PCIe and other components that plugs into the current validation framework.
Create reusable validation utilities that work within that framework.
Build tools that surface intermittent faults such as silent data corruption, timing problems and instability.
Detect data integrity, computational correctness, performance and reliability issues across CPUs, AI accelerators, memory, storage, PCIe, firmware, BMC and other components.
Develop SDC tests, power transient stress tools and platform diagnostics, adding new diagnostics as future hardware capabilities emerge.
Design configurable diagnostics that run across several silicon revisions, platforms and execution environments, using configuration to vary parameters and workloads.
Automate diagnostic runs across server and rack-scale validation environments.
Work with hardware architects to understand new capabilities and spot missing diagnostics.
Partner with firmware and validation teams to improve hardware observability.
Debug low-level interactions between hardware, firmware, the operating system and drivers.
Analyze diagnostic output and refine fault isolation methods.
Build software that lets engineers reproduce and investigate hard-to-find hardware failures.
Contribute libraries and utilities that raise productivity across validation teams.
Validate CPU scaling and cache behavior.
Validate memory (DDR/HBM) bandwidth, latency and NUMA effects.
Validate interconnect contention under multi-core load.
Validate PCIe/I-O throughput, latency and multi-device scenarios.
Validate high-speed I/O.
