Description

The company is a growth-stage FinTech firm based in NYC that builds a payment layer for household bills, letting people see, split and pay what they owe around their income schedule. Customers can choose how and when payments go out, and on-time payments can help build credit.

The team is made up of people who question the status quo and take ownership of hard problems. You would work alongside colleagues who raise your standard and help turn ideas into work that matters to the people the company serves.

The role focuses on making rent payments fit how renters actually earn and spend: smoothing cash flow, reducing late fees and helping renters build credit. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you own the technical roadmap for your team across APIs, SDKs and web experiences, and you work with Engineering, Product, Design, Infrastructure, Sales, Partner and Customer Success to keep the technical strategy aligned with business goals. You stay hands-on and build products that can change as the offering evolves.

The Partner Integrations team standardizes the APIs, tools and processes that let external partners connect to the company for data sharing and payments across entry points such as the company Anywhere.

Strong fits for this team tend to be people who get things done efficiently and will pitch in when work is blocked, who own what they build from design through production with a backup plan, who bring others into problem-solving early, who write code and communicate clearly enough for others to act, who keep momentum when systems fail or priorities shift, and who value the right answer over being right.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical roadmap for your team across APIs, SDKs and web experiences.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Design, Infrastructure, Sales, Partner and Customer Success to keep the technical strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Stay hands-on and build as an individual contributor.
  • Build products that remain flexible as the product offering changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership.
  • Able to work effectively on a globally distributed team and take high ownership.
  • Have led delivery of several high-impact products end to end, on schedule and to a high quality bar.
  • Have worked with technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligning them on scope and setting clear delivery expectations.
  • Able to push yourself and your team toward quality and consistency in code and architecture without slowing delivery.
  • Comfortable growing in a fast-paced, changing environment that pushes you to bring your best.
  • Have designed and built solutions that deliver strong ROI and significant business impact.
  • Experience in FinTech with a working knowledge of major payment rails.
  • Experience working with Sales stakeholders or building products for sales professionals.
  • Experience building integrations with external partners and managing those relationships.
  • Experience with AWS cloud-based applications.
