Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Platform)

Description

The company is a global software firm headquartered in San Diego, California, and part of the Renesas Group. It builds a cloud platform that connects everyone involved in electronics development, from design engineers to supply chain and manufacturing teams.

You will join the platform engineering team, working on the cloud applications behind this product. Your focus will be building complex product features for electronics engineers.

The platform runs more than 100 services.

Responsibilities

• Build new cloud-native applications and scalable infrastructure.
• Use AI and ML to improve search capabilities.
• Process large volumes of data, model that data, and design APIs around user intent.
• Work with stateful and stateless servers, relational databases and ORM frameworks.
• Come up with new product features for electronics engineers and turn them into working software.
• Develop features for complex cloud applications as your main area of work.

Requirements

• 7+ years of.NET experience.
• Deep expertise in one or more of the following: identity and authentication, access or license management, message queues or brokers, distributed caches, ElasticSearch or OpenSearch, relational database design and optimisation, platform framework development, multi-tenancy, or the Rings Protection Model in cloud development.
• Proven experience building and running distributed, high-load systems, including performance profiling, optimisation, load testing and stress testing.
• Ability to solve hard technical problems that differ from typical market products, combining engineering software with cloud services.
• Ability to shape technical direction across several teams and lead architectural decisions.
• Experience defining and enforcing engineering standards, best practices and technical governance across a platform.
• Experience with Firebird, Oracle and Postgres.
• Experience with Azure, GCP or AliCloud.
