Senior Software Engineer

Description

The company builds cloud-connected software and web experiences that add AI-driven features to its imaging solutions.

This is a hands-on role spanning the whole software lifecycle, from requirements and design through build, integration, testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.

You will tackle hard technical problems mostly on your own, work with cross-functional engineers on reliable solutions, and act as a technical resource for other engineers while growing your own skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production software for cloud services, web applications and desktop integration components within the existing architecture.
• Turn product and technical requirements into working software, applying solid engineering practice to complex problems.
• Work with engineering and other teams to assess requirements, choose technical approaches and align integration points.
• Add AI and machine-learning features to production applications using cloud-hosted services and inference APIs.
• Produce maintainable, testable, reliable code, along with technical documentation, test plans and test results.
• Review designs and code, giving useful technical feedback and helping raise standards across the team.
• Estimate development work and report on progress, dependencies and technical issues throughout development.
• Help ensure software quality, safety, reliability, serviceability and relevant regulatory compliance.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and support less experienced engineers where useful.
• Take part in small projects and Agile initiatives, and keep up with relevant technologies, practices and tools.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• About 5+ years of software development experience, or equivalent demonstrated ability.
• Strong C/.NET experience, including building web APIs and backend services.
• Experience building modern web applications with React or a comparable front-end framework.
• Experience developing or integrating cloud-hosted applications and services.
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP, software design patterns and modern engineering practice.
• Experience across the software lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, code review and deployment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work well with technical teams.
• Preferred: Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage or Key Vault.
• Preferred: ASP.NET Core Web APIs and Entity Framework Core.
• Preferred: React ecosystem tools such as React Router, Redux Toolkit, React Query or Material UI.
• Preferred: production integration of AI/ML services, such as Azure AI services or cloud-hosted inference APIs.
• Preferred: integrating cloud services with native desktop applications.
• Preferred: CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and YAML.
• Preferred: complex systems, distributed architectures or microservices.
• Preferred: computer graphics, imaging or video processing, including OpenGL.
• Preferred: medical or dental imaging systems.
• Preferred: CT technology or image reconstruction.
• Preferred: software development in an FDA-regulated or similarly regulated environment.
• Preferred items are valuable but optional; you do not need to bring all of them.

The target salary range is $130,000 - $152,800.

Actual pay depends on factors such as location, skills, education, certifications, depth of experience, performance and business needs.

The range is an estimate that has not been adjusted for the geographic differential of the location where the role may be filled.

Hiring at or near the top of the range is not typical; pay decisions depend on the facts of each case.

For Field Sales roles, the listed range covers base pay only and excludes incentive pay under the applicable sales compensation plan.
