Description

The company has spent more than 25 years working on computer graphics, PC gaming and accelerated computing, and now applies AI to the next generation of computing, where its GPUs act as the processing core for computers, robots and self-driving cars that can perceive their surroundings.

The Embedded Platform team is hiring a senior software engineer to speed up development of Jetson, IGX and DGX Spark product software. You will work with a global development team on embedded platforms, real-time Linux kernels and software architectures, with the goal of delivering a platform for building AI solutions at the edge. The role suits someone who has shipped Linux-based embedded products through their full lifecycle and enjoys hands-on product building.

Responsibilities

  • Build features for Jetson and IGX based robotics, drone and industrial automation platforms, from board bring-up through production release.
  • Define, build and tune a real-time Linux kernel for deterministic workloads that rely on GPU and SoC accelerators.
  • Enable a range of I/O interfaces and verify the sensor interfaces that robotics, drone and industrial automation systems depend on.
  • Work with robotics partners and internal hardware, safety and middleware teams to turn customer use cases into platform features, reference configurations and tools.
  • Own work across the full product lifecycle, from hardware bring-up to production deployment.
  • Model the workloads of GPUs, sensors and other accelerator engines used in robotics, drone and industrial automation applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience with Linux and complex embedded systems development, with strong programming skills.
  • Ability to understand the hardware architecture of robotics, drone or industrial automation platforms and work with the hardware team.
  • Hands-on experience shipping board support packages for robotics, drone or industrial automation platforms.
  • Ability to work through Linux kernel internals, including device drivers, device tree, boot flow and debugging with tracing tools.
  • Proven experience developing a real-time Linux kernel.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to work across adjacent teams.
  • Experience with an RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr is a plus.
  • Nice to have: an understanding of how middleware frameworks such as ROS2 affect platform determinism.
  • Nice to have: experience building tools or frameworks that let customers configure and verify real-time behavior on deployed systems.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with embedded microprocessor architectures such as ARM, and the Linux kernel subsystems within them.
  • Nice to have: experience with developer kits for robotics, drone or industrial automation platforms.

Conditions

Base salary depends on your location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions, within a range of 184,000 USD to 287,500 USD.
