The company is the combined result of the company and Udemy, now one organization. It serves more than 300 million learners and over 12,000 enterprise customers with AI-era skills training.
The team builds and ships AI-powered solutions directly with enterprise and campus customers, spanning AI and data engineering, cloud and security architecture, and hands-on customer work.
Responsibilities
Map a customer's systems, data models and workflows with their executive sponsors and IT or data owners, so you find the underlying business problem rather than only the one they describe.
Build working prototypes and demo them to customers live, changing them in the room to show value quickly.
Act as the link between the customer and core engineering, moving validated prototypes into production.
Design and build multi-tenant, hybrid, or customer-controlled deployments, shaped by each customer's data residency, privacy and IT maturity.
Build and own identity and access management, encryption, and secure cross-network links (mTLS, VPC peering, PrivateLink, API gateways) for systems embedded in customer environments.
Raise security, data residency and compliance questions during discovery, before any commercial commitment.
Own CI/CD, observability and production support for systems running inside customer environments.
Spot patterns across customer engagements and report field findings to Product, so they can decide what to standardize, expand or retire.
Work with Product Managers, AI Specialists and Program Managers to define problems around customer and business impact.
Travel to customer sites, often, for scoping, prototyping and go-live, including in-person workshops and executive readouts.
Requirements
At least 5 years in a software engineering role, with substantial hands-on backend and cloud infrastructure work.
At least 1 year building production-grade agentic AI solutions.
Working proficiency in Python, Java or TypeScript, plus Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka, and comfort moving across the stack.
Solid understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and experience running both multi-tenant and hybrid customer-cloud models.
Strong data engineering skills: ingesting, cleaning and normalizing messy, inconsistent data from many source systems.
Working knowledge of identity and access management, encryption and key management, and secure network patterns (VPC peering, PrivateLink, mTLS) in customer-embedded or regulated settings.
Proven ability to work directly with customers: scope unclear problems, run discovery, and demo unfinished work live, in person and remotely.
Willing and able to travel regularly to customer sites, domestically and occasionally abroad.
Experience leading projects and resolving complex issues with little supervision.
Preferred: experience with agentic AI tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, FastMCP, RAG or MCP.
Preferred: experience with Postgres, DuckDB, pgvector or similar data layers.
Preferred: experience in solutions engineering, professional services or technical consulting, owning a customer relationship end to end, including on-site work.
Preferred: familiarity with privacy and residency rules relevant to enterprise, education and government customers, such as GDPR, FERPA, DPDPA and HIPAA.
Preferred: ability to work in a fast-moving, ambiguous setting and make sound technical trade-offs with limited guidance.
Preferred: strong communication, translating technical constraints into points an executive sponsor or non-technical stakeholder can act on.
