Description

The company works in more than 70 countries and supports major international artists, developing and independent artists, and creators. It operates where music, entertainment and technology meet, and is part of a global group of companies.

The Product Design Engineering and Global Operations team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Data Operations. You will be responsible for the reliability, observability and day-to-day health of the team's data platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run monitoring, alerting and health dashboards that show platform status in real time.
  • Help triage production incidents, contribute to fixes, keep stakeholders informed and write post-mortems.
  • Automate recurring operational tasks such as access requests, backfill coordination and pipeline health checks so the team handles more work over time.
  • Manage Snowflake infrastructure in Terraform, covering access controls, cost monitoring and warehouse setup.
  • Review designs and code with Data Engineering, focusing on reliability and ease of operation.
  • Write and update runbooks, incident playbooks and platform documentation.
  • Improve reliability, query speed and data access so analysts across regions can work effectively.
  • Propose and carry out changes to team tools, processes and operating practices.

Requirements

  • At least 6 to 8 years in software engineering, with substantial work in SRE, platform engineering or data infrastructure.
  • A track record of handling production incidents, including communicating with stakeholders and analysing what went wrong afterwards.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring and observability, including alert design, SLO definition, dashboards and root cause analysis in distributed systems.
  • Operational experience with Snowflake or a comparable data warehouse, such as access management, cost control and performance tuning.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code. Terraform experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong debugging skills across cloud infrastructure, data pipelines and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline tools such as Fivetran, dbt and Airflow, or equivalents.
  • AWS experience is preferred.
  • You explain technical incidents clearly to business and analyst stakeholders, without jargon.
  • You want to cut toil through automation and scalable process, rather than simply absorbing operational load.
  • An interest in music and a willingness to learn how the music business works.

Conditions

The company is an equal opportunity employer that makes decisions on merit and does not discriminate on sex, race, religion, origin, age, sexual orientation, marital status, medical condition or disability.

Benefits

  • Private medical cover.
  • A generous pension scheme.
  • Life assurance and income protection.
  • Music industry perks.
  • Time off over the winter break.
  • Investment in your professional growth.
  • Opportunities to take part in the company's social impact, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
