The company makes semiconductor solutions for automotive, industrial, infrastructure and IoT markets, with over 21,000 engineers in more than 30 countries.
This senior technical leadership role covers the global compute and CAD infrastructure behind engineering and chip design. It combines hands-on engineering with ownership of architecture and daily operations across Linux compute, engineering workspaces, project provisioning, LSF, EDA license servers, Perforce, monitoring and automation.
You would work with engineering, CAD and IT/IS teams to build environments that scale, stay reliable and remain consistent worldwide.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical direction of global EDA compute, including Linux engineering environments, interactive and batch capacity, and hard troubleshooting.
Work with IT/IS on compute, storage, networking and server needs, and help plan capacity and technical roadmaps.
Build automation that makes the platform more reliable and reduces manual administration.
Own and evolve the architecture of engineering projects and workspaces, including how they are created and initialized.
Keep project configuration supported and set up the same way across every project and site.
Build interfaces that connect project configuration, PDKs, EDA tools and engineering workflows.
Provide extension points so project teams can customize their environments within a supported platform standard.
Reduce manual steps across project setup and the full project lifecycle.
Lead global EDA license-server infrastructure, define standard ways to deploy and administer licenses, and automate updates, validation and auditing.
Write robust Python, shell and other automation for CAD infrastructure, and maintain engineering utilities and infrastructure scripts.
Automate configuration generation, provisioning, monitoring and administration, and connect CAD infrastructure to Jenkins/CI and service-management workflows where suitable.
Raise the observability, auditability and maintainability of infrastructure services.
Build dashboards and metrics, monitor compute and license use, and spot capacity, performance and reliability risks.
Plan capacity forward with infrastructure teams and build ways to find wasteful use of shared resources.
Help shape the supported Linux OS strategy for EDA, coordinate tool compatibility with IT/IS, support moves between Linux platform generations, and set clear requirements for infrastructure standards.
Keep engineering application needs separate from infrastructure operational ownership.
Maintain architecture and operations documentation for critical CAD systems, including scripts, configuration, dependencies and recovery steps.
Give expert escalation on hard infrastructure problems and train CAD and IT/IS engineers so the work does not rest on a few people.
Set up sustainable primary and backup ownership for critical services, along with resilience and failover plans.
Standardize license infrastructure with regional CAD teams and IT/IS, and monitor and report on license availability, utilization and capacity.
Provide EDA expertise for LSF compute, work with IT/IS on LSF architecture, provisioning and sharing, and link project environments to batch compute.
Measure compute use and efficiency, automate detection of inefficient or problematic workloads, and help with compute capacity planning.
Provide engineering-side expertise for Perforce server infrastructure and operations, and work with IT/IS on lifecycle, availability, storage, backup and ownership.
Support administration and troubleshooting of engineering Perforce environments, build Perforce automation and monitoring, and keep its documentation current.
