Senior Software Engineer

Description

The company is a global iGaming and lottery solutions provider listed on the Euronext Athens, combining digital B2C expertise with long-standing leadership in regulated lottery gaming.

The company offers online gaming, lottery, iLottery and sports betting, and is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who works in Java.

Responsibilities

• You design, build and evolve high-performance backend systems that support the company's global solutions.
• You build and maintain microservices-based applications with clean, efficient and well-structured code.
• You work closely with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, design solutions and deliver quality work.
• You take part in code reviews, architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• You support internal and external stakeholders when needed.
• You keep up with Java trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, plus 4+ years of professional Java development experience.
• You have solid experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot 2.6. The team is moving to Java 25 and Spring Boot 4.
• You understand RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems and multithreading/concurrency well.
• You speak and write Greek and English excellently.
• You have experience with MySQL, Hibernate/JPA, JUnit, Git and modern development workflows, including automated testing.
• You have hands-on experience using Generative AI and LLM tools in the software development lifecycle, including effective prompting, code validation, security and responsible AI-assisted development.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, CI/CD, observability and production troubleshooting is a plus.
• You are collaborative and proactive, solve problems well and write maintainable, high-quality software.
