Senior Java Engineer

Description

You will join the AI Software Engineering team in the company's technology team in Greece, a diverse and growing group of engineers and technology professionals working on AI-driven digital transformation.

The team builds modern products and enterprise solutions that combine solid engineering with Generative AI, intelligent agents and cloud-native technologies.

The role suits an ambitious, self-driven senior Java engineer who wants to help clients innovate, automate processes and create new business value.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, AI-enabled products, applications and platforms, from design through development.
• Develop enterprise-grade, custom multi-tier applications.
• Connect applications to third-party systems and data sources.
• Work with workflow, document management, content management and portal systems, using the relevant frameworks.
• Work alongside software engineers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, business analysts and the project manager.
• Support mission-critical systems for major banking clients, where scale, uptime and demanding conditions are part of daily work.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in IT engineering, computer science, applied sciences or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional Java/J2EE software development experience.
• Hands-on work with Java and frameworks such as Servlets, JDBC, EJBs, JPA, Hibernate and Spring.
• Working knowledge of JSP, JSF, React, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS.
• SQL experience with at least one of Oracle DB, MSSQL, DB2 or MySQL.
• Understanding of client-server architecture and web services, including SOAP and REST.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or another version control system such as SVN or Git, plus Jira and Maven.
• Ability to write technical documentation and design algorithms with analytical rigour.
• Willingness to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Clear, concise and professional communication, verbal and written, in both English and Greek.
• A commitment to high-quality work and strong client relationships.
