Description

The company is hiring a full-time Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to build and test applications and technologies for a mission-critical force protection system.

The work centres on automated testing for software architectures in a cloud-based RF environment, with a focus on technical standards, quality engineering, and integrating software and components with complex RF solutions.

You will work alongside RF hardware engineers, system designers, and other stakeholders to deliver a reliable, high-performance RF system simulation system, and you will report risks and opportunities to program executive leadership.

This is a regular position on a multidisciplinary engineering team, with a posting end date of 3/1/2027.

Responsibilities

  • Help keep the system high in quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Design and build applications and interfaces.
  • Write and run test plans, and find and report defects.
  • Work closely with developers.
  • Create a continuous improvement plan for testing processes.
  • Carry out both manual and automated testing.
  • Weigh thorough coverage against delivery deadlines, and help raise the team's quality standard.

Requirements

  • Required:
  • Be a US citizen and hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Have 5+ years of software engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer engineering or a closely related field such as computer science.

  • Have worked with API testing tools.
  • Be comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Have experience with Java, JavaScript, and Linux.
  • Have experience with acceptance, functional, and API testing.
  • Write strong documentation, including manual test cases, test procedures, requirements verification traceability matrices (RVTM), and test plans.
  • Be proficient with GitLab, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD workflow tools.
  • Be familiar with JIRA and Confluence for tracking projects and collaborating.
  • Desired:
  • Design, build, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts that match requirements and specifications.
  • Have experience with Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools.
  • Run manual and automated tests, covering acceptance, functional, regression, and API testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify defects, with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, and severity assessments.
  • Analyze test results, report findings, and give useful feedback to developers and stakeholders.
  • Work well with teammates across the software development lifecycle.
  • Help develop and improve applications and test automation frameworks.
  • Have experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes/Helm, or ArgoCD.
  • Balance quality assurance against project timelines and deliverables.
  • Keep thorough records of test artifacts, results, and quality metrics.
