The systems let travelers search, plan, book and manage complex journeys, and the work centres on APIs, partner connections and sound engineering practice.

The company is modernising its technology and adopting AI-assisted development, so the team is looking for engineers who want to shape how travel technology is built.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will help build and improve these platforms, combining hands-on coding with architecture, technical leadership and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain enterprise-grade applications that meet the team's engineering principles.
• Turn business and technical needs into scalable software that puts users first.
• Take part in the full lifecycle of a system, from design and delivery through operations, platform upkeep and ongoing improvement.
• Assess technical options and recommend practical ways to implement them.
• Lead modernisation work that improves scalability, maintainability, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Shape technical decisions, promote engineering best practice, and contribute to architecture and the technical roadmap.
• Find ways to simplify the system landscape and reduce technical debt.
• Design and evolve APIs and integrations that connect travel partners, tour operators and external business services.
• Work on business-critical connectivity behind booking flows, partner services, fraud prevention and enterprise platforms.
• Contribute to cross-team projects that improve the platform for customers worldwide.
• Use AI and automation to solve engineering and business problems, and bring intelligent tooling into daily work to raise productivity.
• Help adopt emerging technologies and evolve engineering practices.
• Support peer learning, share knowledge and encourage inclusive teamwork to strengthen technical culture.

Requirements

• Experience designing, building and operating large-scale enterprise systems.
• Experience contributing to architecture, modernisation and technical decision-making.
• A record of delivering complex technical solutions in a product-driven setting.
• Ability to work effectively across teams, stakeholders and business domains.
• Strong backend skills in Java, Spring and Spring Boot, with enterprise application development experience.
• A solid understanding of modern architectures, distributed systems and system integration.
• Experience with automated testing, production support and operational excellence.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and automation to improve productivity and software quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using AI, automation and data-driven methods to reach efficient, high-quality solutions.
• Able to lead through expertise, ownership and technical credibility.
• Able to simplify complexity and explain matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A continuous learner with a growth mindset and curiosity about emerging technologies.
• Advantage: familiarity with cloud-native technologies.
