Description

The company is a technology provider to the travel industry and operates in more than 190 countries.

Its solutions support many parts of a traveler's journey. This role centers on a key airline revenue management solution in the company's portfolio, which offers room to grow across several products and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full range of qualitative and quantitative UX research, from setup through to reporting.
  • Design, manage and tune cloud infrastructure, keeping performance, reliability and security in view.
  • Clarify UX requests from product and project stakeholders, set research goals with the product manager, and help shape the approach and UX strategy.
  • Decide the research scope and which methods to use.
  • Run kick-off and follow-up meetings with PMs, UX designers and developers.
  • Choose target users, decide how many to recruit, and recruit them directly or through an outside provider.
  • Check that each participant fits the study and schedule the sessions.
  • Handle the legal agreements for each study, such as NDAs and consent for audio and video recording.
  • Carry out one-to-one and contextual interviews, focus groups, field work (shadowing, observation, task analysis), exploratory surveys and analytics review.
  • From the findings, create personas and experience maps, including empathy maps, customer journeys and day-in-the-life views, with users and internal stakeholders.
  • Run ideation sessions with the product team to bring findings into design, using storyboarding, design studios and design charrettes.
  • Advise UX designers on UI directions drawn from research, covering information architecture, interaction models, workflows and consistency.
  • Plan and run feedback sessions throughout development: participatory design, card sorting, mock-up walkthroughs, prototype tests, qualitative and quantitative A/B tests, and usability and productivity tests on live products.
  • Document research protocols and findings, help the team apply them, and keep communication flowing across disciplines in every phase.
  • Promote user-centered design by inviting team members to observe sessions as silent participants.

Requirements

  • Hold the technical and functional knowledge and experience your discipline requires, plus a working understanding of the company's business and how your area connects to it.
  • Work within existing procedures and guidelines, give input that shapes area decisions, and recommend new solutions and improvements based on analysis of varied sources.
  • Work with a moderate amount of direction from your manager.
  • The team values curiosity, ongoing learning and real interest in building work that matters, and suits people who enjoy modern technology in a setting rich in domain knowledge.
