Description

The company's software is used by more than 25,000 businesses, including 85 of the Fortune 100, to improve customer experience, fight financial crime and ensure public safety.

Each day its software handles over 120 million customer interactions and monitors more than 3 billion financial transactions.

Recognised as an innovation leader in AI, cloud and digital, the company is NASDAQ-listed and has over 8,500 employees across 30+ countries.

This is a Lead Software Architect role on a team rebuilding the digital evidence platform as AI-Native, with AI tooling used daily from design through verification. It is central to the company's AI-led delivery transformation.

The company is not looking for AI credentials, since the field moves too fast for them to mean much. It wants someone who already uses AI in daily work, has formed clear views on where it fits and where it does not, and keeps learning new tools as current ones are replaced.

The team wants a skilled architect who also develops software.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and carry out design, implementation and validation in cloud-based, multi-threaded, multi-server environments, using AI-led delivery where AI drafts code, tests and decisions while you set intent, direct implementation and check outputs.
  • Lead technical direction collaboratively with the team.
  • Make sure the architecture covers security, scalability, compatibility and maintainability, along with responsible, evidenced use of AI at build time and run time.
  • Test your own work, fix defects and help resolve customer support cases.
  • Make sure the team follows the architectural direction and standards.
  • Mentor team members in architecture, AI-led delivery and validating AI outputs.
  • Work with Product Management during planning sessions.

Requirements

  • Communicate clearly by email, instant message, phone and video conferencing.
  • Pursue product quality with real intensity.
  • Solve problems well and keep up with new design and development tools and technologies.
  • Care about process and know it well.
  • Use AI tooling such as Copilot, Claude Code, Codex or an equivalent every day, not just experimentally. Be ready to discuss specific examples at interview.
  • Spot opportunities to improve process, product architecture and delivery as AI evolves.
  • Have clear judgement on where AI belongs in a public-safety platform and where it does not.
  • Solid experience developing applications in C using Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
  • Track record of turning complex market requirements into secure, scalable and resilient system designs.
  • Experience with multi-tenant cloud solutions.
  • Experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience writing maintainable code and using source control such as DevOps, Git or similar.
  • Experience with unit testing, code reviews and other product quality practices.
  • Solid understanding of network security, authentication and authorization principles.
  • Experience working with databases through Entity Framework or similar.
  • Good knowledge of SOLID principles.
  • Experience creating RESTful APIs and keeping them extensible.
  • Recent hands-on use of AI tooling (Copilot, Claude Code, Codex or equivalent) in daily work. Able to explain what worked, what did not and what you decided.
  • Accountability for the architecture you own, whatever tools helped produce it.
  • Comfortable with probabilistic systems and with judgement on when to use AI in a high-trust domain.
  • Able to get up to speed on a new AI tool or technique within days.
  • Knowledge of security best practice (OWASP Top Ten).
  • Experience with Azure SQL Server.
  • Experience with DevOps, pipelines, TeamCity and GitHub.
  • Experience with Windows services.
  • Experience using AI tooling in the architect role, such as design review, ADR drafting, threat modelling, contract design or similar.
  • Familiarity with AI-Native software patterns such as agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses, prompt-and-response evaluation and evidence packets.
  • You do not need to be an AI expert. Curiosity, recent practical use, output discipline and the judgement to ship under accountability matter more.
  • The final stage includes a working session with AI tooling that looks at how you set intent, validate outputs and make decisions rather than recall facts.
