Description

The role leads SEO, AEO and GEO for the company, shaping how expecting and new parents find it in traditional search and in AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Claude.

As parents use AI more to research products, ask for advice and decide what to buy, discoverability has become a company priority. You will own the strategy from start to finish, including the roadmap and how results are measured.

The work sits where technical SEO, content strategy and structured data meet, so the company is understood, cited and recommended wherever parents look for answers. You will work with Marketing, Tech, Merchandising and Partnerships, and present to leaders and the executive team.

The role sits in Growth Marketing. The company runs a registry, a shop, a health business and showrooms in NYC and LA for expecting and new families. Health is a newer area with room to grow, and you will help set the 2027 goals with leadership and own the measurement behind them.

Your work includes keeping the company ahead as AI search changes, from a position where it already has the highest citation and visibility scores among its competitors for registry queries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organic search planning and the KPIs behind it: SEO-driven activated registries against plan, clicks, top-3 rankings, and AEO citation share and visibility.
  • In your first 90 days, review the two overlapping AEO tracking tools, choose one, and set the prompt framework and KPIs for Registry, Health and Shop.
  • Keep Google rankings stable and growing across the company's top categories through the technical backlog, internal linking and content freshness.
  • Raise visibility outside Registry in categories where the company trails the category leader, using a practical roadmap with clear actions.
  • Build AI-driven systems with the AI Enablement team and Engineering. Replace vendor tools where an in-house build does the job, and explain the trade-offs.
  • Set the content playbook with Editorial, covering FAQ structure, update cadence and what earns citations.
  • Work with Marketing to test discovery channels such as social and Reddit, and measure whether they change AI citations and overall discoverability.
  • Share ownership of brand search strategy and attribution with Paid Search.
  • Publish monthly and quarterly SEO and AEO reviews covering performance against plan and key projects.
  • Serve as the company's go-to source for SEO and AEO guidance in internal communications.
  • Connect organic discoverability to business results, including traffic that becomes registry signups and revenue.
  • Deliver an agentic commerce roadmap for the company.

Requirements

  • You have hands-on AEO or GEO experience and a proven record of growing organic results.
  • You have set up an AEO program from scratch: writing question-style prompts, defining KPIs such as citation share, visibility and share of voice, choosing a tracking tool, and knowing what works, what doesn't and what to do next.
  • You have deep technical SEO experience on a large, complex site, including rendering and prerendering, crawl behavior, structured data, internal linking, migrations and recovery from Google algorithm updates. Scale is routine, with XM+ registry URLs and XK guides.
  • You measure results beyond clicks, linking AI visibility, citations and brand search to signups and revenue, and agreeing attribution with paid search.
  • You build with AI, with shipped AI-assisted workflows, programmatic pages or internal tools that improved rankings or citations. You prefer systems that compound over one-off pages.
  • You set content standards that drive organic traffic, including FAQ structure, freshness cadence and formatting that earns citations, and you give editors and freelance writers guidance they can use.
  • You are hands-on: you pull the data, write the brief and fix the markup yourself.
  • Nice to have: experience driving discovery through Reddit, YouTube or short-form video, and building partner or sponsored organic programs without harming editorial trust.
  • You understand agentic commerce, where AI assistants research and buy products for parents. You structure product data, registry and shop pages so those agents can read, compare and recommend them.
  • A plus: experience at a consumer brand, marketplace or publisher with a large content library.

Conditions

Pay follows a market-based approach. The starting salary range is $143,788.00 to $191,730.00, set by your location, experience and qualifications, with increases tied to performance, role growth and internal pay equity.

The team is remote-first, with members across the U.S. and Canada, and gets together twice a year.

AI is part of daily work. Claude and ChatGPT are available from your first day, with no waiting for access.

Career progression is tied to performance, and the company works with focus, then steps away to recharge.

Interviews are recorded and transcribed with consent, and AI tools help review applications, but people make every hiring decision. Misrepresentation at any stage may remove you from consideration.
