Description

The company works in private markets, one of the largest and most complex areas of global finance. It acts as an operations partner for more than 2,300 GPs, combining software, data, and fund administration on one platform.

The platform handles over $300B in assets under administration and serves more than 700,000 LPs. The company was founded in 2014, is still led by its founder, has raised $350M+ in funding, and employs 1,000+ people.

The team values ownership, speed, open debate, collaboration, and transparent feedback. It is growing quickly and is working to define its category.

This role sits within Corporate Marketing and works closely with the wider go-to-market organization. It covers how the company is found and cited in traditional search and in AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, which GPs and fund operations teams use to research vendors.

GPs arrive for software, fund administration, or both, and each path has different terminology, competitors, and audience expectations. Your strategy has to cover the full platform rather than a single generic approach.

AEO and GEO have no established industry playbook yet, so you will help write the company's own. The company wants someone who already uses AI as a normal part of their work and who combines technical rigor with processes that improve over time.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy and execution of search visibility across organic search, AEO, and GEO, from the technical base up to AI visibility and authority building.
  • Measure organic traffic and rankings for a defined set of priority terms across the full platform, with clear growth as the goal.
  • Own on-page SEO, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, and regular technical audits for the main website. Work with the external web engineering agency to scope and ship fixes.
  • Monitor and improve crawl efficiency and indexing across the site. Manage JSON-LD structured data and newer AI crawling standards, including llms.txt and plain-text or markdown versions of priority pages.
  • Set the brief and quality standard for agencies and vendors covering SEO, AEO, and content production, and decide which work stays in-house.
  • Track rankings against named competitors in traditional search and AI answer engines. When a competitor passes the company on a priority term, find the cause and lead the fix, whether technical, content, or authority-based.
  • Optimize content for AI retrieval with schema, structured data, answer-first layouts, and semantic reinforcement that makes it easy for AI systems to extract and cite.
  • Earn visibility beyond the main website on Reddit, YouTube (titles, descriptions, chapters, and metadata for video search), review sites, and community sources that LLMs trust. Write content that serves both crawlers and people, using AI-assisted workflows to scale output without lowering quality.
  • Shape the social content strategy, including LinkedIn, so formats support search and AI citation goals as well as engagement.
  • Run controlled experiments to find what actually changes AI citations, and turn the results into a repeatable playbook.
  • Track how AI platforms retrieve, summarize, and attribute the company's content. Report citation share alongside organic traffic and rankings, and adjust the roadmap based on the data.
  • Run technical SEO and GEO as one program with shared priorities.
  • Build the company's authority on core private markets topics, such as GP operations and fund administration, so search engines and AI systems point to it as the source.
  • Adapt authority work to whether a GP engages through software, fund administration, or both, since relevant competitors and publications differ by entry point.
  • Work with content and subject-matter experts to find questions in private markets where the company should be the definitive answer but is not yet, and close those gaps.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in SEO, including hands-on ownership of a technical SEO program at a large B2B organization.
  • Hands-on AEO or GEO experience. You can name a specific citation you earned in an AI answer engine and explain exactly how you earned it.
  • A record of earning backlinks and media citations through original research or data, not only outreach templates.
  • Experience with SEO and GEO tools, including rank trackers, log-file analysis, and AI-citation monitoring platforms.
  • Plus, hands-on experience with AEO or GEO or AI-citation monitoring tools such as Profound, Airops, etc.
  • Enough knowledge of structured data and schema markup (JSON-LD) to write precise specs and work directly with engineers on implementation.
  • Strong writing and editorial judgment. The role often involves shaping how content is framed and structured from the start, not tagging it afterward.
  • Comfort working with real ambiguity, since AEO and GEO practices are still being defined across the industry and you will be building the playbook as well as running it.
  • Experience optimizing social media and video content for search.
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or private markets, or a clear ability to learn a technical, regulated industry quickly.
