Description

The role sits in the Project Management Office of the Chemical Analysis Division, part of the Analytical Instrumentation Group, and reports to the Senior Manager of that office.

The division builds analytical instruments and related services for customers in safety and security, environmental, food safety, energy, mining, life sciences manufacturing, and recycling.

Its instruments are used in labs, production sites, and the field, where reliability, robustness, and ease of use matter.

You will guide complex product programs from concept to market, owning software delivery and keeping hardware, firmware, and services in step, and lead cross-functional teams to ship high-quality products on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Run full product programs from concept to commercial launch, taking primary ownership of software delivery and making sure hardware, firmware, and related services fit together.
  • Build project plans covering scope, timeline, budget, staffing, quality, and risk, and hit key milestones and release dates.
  • Work with R&D, systems engineering, operations, quality, regulatory, marketing, sourcing, and service teams so technical decisions stay aligned.
  • Run software projects on Waterfall while working with Agile/Scrum teams to deliver reliable releases on schedule.
  • Control scope, requirements, configuration, and changes so objectives, timelines, and budgets stay protected.
  • Spot technical and program risks early, act on them, solve cross-team problems, and escalate serious blockers.
  • Agree resource allocation with functional managers to balance priorities, capacity, and goals.
  • Make sure development processes, quality systems, and regulatory rules are followed, including design reviews, verification, validation, and documentation.
  • Report status, risks, key decisions, and trade-offs to senior leaders and stakeholders through clear, data-based updates.
  • Organize manufacturing transfer, service readiness, documents, and release work to support launches and product lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing complex product development programs.
  • A track record managing projects that combine software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams in a worldwide matrix structure.
  • Experience taking projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Solid grasp of product development lifecycles and project management methods.
  • Hands-on experience running software projects with Waterfall, plus working knowledge of Agile/Scrum.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Teams, and Excel.
  • Strong planning, organization, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and create alignment without formal authority.
  • Able to balance long-term strategy with daily execution across several priorities.
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate with people at every level of the organization.
