Description

The company is hiring a MEP project manager to join its team and work with a global manufacturing client.

You bring an engineering background with solid mechanical, electrical, or MEP knowledge and experience, and you think like a consultant. Owner's representation experience is required.

Experience supporting construction and capital projects in one or more of the company's key markets is preferred: data centers, critical infrastructure, aviation, life sciences, and energy and natural resources. Work on complex projects with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams in these sectors is also preferred.

The company is a global professional services firm with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries. It works across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, and offers programme, project, cost, asset and commercial management, controls and performance, procurement and supply chain, net zero, and digital solutions.

It is majority-owned by CBRE Group, Inc., with partners holding a significant minority stake. The two firms work together to offer clients programme, project, and cost management.

Responsibilities

  • Keep engineering drawings, specifications, and documents up to date.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external team members and stakeholders at every project stage.
  • Provide the scheduler with progress updates.
  • Coordinate in the field between the General Contractor, Commissioning Agent, and Client.
  • Walk the site with the General Contractor and subcontractor trades, and attend field and punch walks with the architect and MEP engineering team.
  • Help prepare and manage project close-out documentation.
  • Make sure QA/QC procedures are followed, and report any issues or gaps.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Carry out engineering quality assurance and quality control reviews of all design drawings before they go to Construction for builds.
  • Prepare scheduled and ad hoc reports on progress, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and progress tracking.
  • Manage the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written updates.
  • Record key information and lessons from each commission in internal databases and share them with the team.
  • Make sure the client and management know about quality, safety, health, and environmental issues.
  • You may take on SOX control responsibilities, which must be followed where they apply.

Requirements

  • Hands-on field construction experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing construction is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to coordinate project delivery teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Relationship management skills to keep stakeholders and corporate leadership aligned with the client.
  • Ability to manage and delegate tasks to technical and non-technical support staff.
  • Proven post-graduate experience in mechanical or MEP engineering, covering both design and site work.
  • Engineering background with strong mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field.
  • A project management qualification such as PMP, or an engineering or related background.

Conditions

On-site presence and requirements may change depending on the client's needs.

The working environment is flexible and supports work-life balance.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all parts of the community; candidate information is kept confidential under EEO.

No candidate pays any fee at any point in the recruitment process, and no agency working with the company will ask for one.
