Description

The hardware infrastructure group is hiring a senior technical program manager to set direction and run work that keeps the infrastructure behind the company's hardware ecosystem reliable, scalable and up to date.

That infrastructure supports chip development and tapeout, so it has to be highly reliable, quick and efficient for internal users.

You will help plan future programs with senior management, work with internal customers across the company, and lead close engineering work with CSP and software tooling partners.

You will also build standard planning, reporting and execution methods and metrics to meet demanding goals in a quick-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead programs across planning, forecasting, documentation, scheduling, meetings, prioritization across many areas, managing dependencies, reporting, and resolving critical or blocking issues.
  • Help engineering teams adopt agile practices.
  • Define and run metrics that measure program effectiveness and areas to improve, gathering and analyzing data to guide planning and decisions.
  • Report overall program status to senior management, with insights and recommendations.
  • Align and streamline work with multi-functional leads.
  • Guide teams through complex customer requirements that are advanced, competing and often conflicting.
  • Lead technical discussions to a clear conclusion.
  • Bridge developers and customers, and technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build a habit of continuous improvement and look for process gains.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's degree or have equivalent experience.
  • You have 12+ years of program management experience, including running global projects across several time zones.
  • You have a record of engaging engineering partners and vendors and moderating them to good outcomes.
  • You communicate and present clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You understand software engineering principles and quality requirements for enterprise systems.
  • You can juggle several workstreams and switch context quickly while staying thorough.
  • You know agile methods and tools, project planning, and task tracking software.
  • You actively look for and carry out improvements in software engineering and release management.
  • Ways to stand out: background in computer science, machine learning, deep learning, open source, infrastructure technology or GPU technology.
  • Ways to stand out: experience with infrastructure software, production applications, software development, release and support processes, or DevOps.
  • Ways to stand out: experience managing customer workloads on large distributed computing systems, or working with AI researchers or training AI models directly.
  • Ways to stand out: a steady track record of process improvements and efficiency measurement.
  • Ways to stand out: enjoy sharing knowledge and driving complex projects from start to finish.
