Description

The company develops medical technology and has 95,000 employees working in more than 150 countries, with its devices used by over 72 million patients each year.

The Digital Technologies R&D team is building compact, high-performance embedded systems for edge computing and connectivity, bringing connectivity, real-time guidance and decision support to the operating room.

The team works with other groups across the company to build a connected ecosystem and uses state-of-the-art computer vision to give the most complete view of surgery.

This is a senior program manager role working alongside engineers, designers and product owners to move the next generation of surgical technology from development to delivery.

The role suits someone with solid delivery focus who can manage several complex projects at the same time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global, cross-functional and cross-business-unit teams that design, build and commercialise digital, electro-mechanical and robotic medical devices.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor work within a team and across the portfolio, managing risks to hit business goals.
  • Run cross-functional teams that evaluate, develop and manage new products and the lifecycle of existing products, processes and therapies.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of ongoing projects and act as the link between functional and business management.
  • Manage the development and rollout of products and services across departments or functions, from initiation through delivery.
  • Spot and assess project risks and issues, and resolve them to meet goals for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Set up ways to track progress and step in to solve problems with functional managers and business partners.
  • Support requirements planning, elicitation and management so they meet the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Report status, progress and risk mitigation plans to executive business leaders.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong end-to-end project management experience in hardware and embedded software development.
  • Working knowledge of several project methodologies, including waterfall, Scrum and Agile.
  • Senior experience leading complex, diverse projects and programmes across functions and business units.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Essential experience with highly regulated or safety-critical systems. Medical device experience is strongly preferred.
  • An engineering or related technical degree in any discipline.
  • A recognised project management qualification or certification, such as PMP, Prince2 or SaFe.

Conditions

Pay range for the United Kingdom is 100,000.00 GBP to 150,000.00 GBP.

The final salary is set within this range using objective, job-related criteria, including relevant experience, skills and qualifications, under the company's compensation framework.

The duties described are a general outline of the role and not a complete list of required responsibilities and skills.

Be wary of recruitment fraud: apply only through official company channels, and never pay money or share bank or social security details early in the hiring process. Report any doubtful contact to the company's site.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and a flexible benefits package.
  • A wide range of benefits, resources and compensation plans to support you at every career and life stage.
  • Eligibility for the company Incentive Plan (MIP), a short-term incentive.
